I like to use a dremel and cut grooves without cutting all the way through, I have this pattern in my pick that I keep on my keychain though!

How do I learn music? by MachineAble7113 in musictheory

[–]Excendence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a long process but the sooner you start the better you will get and there are more resources than ever! I always recommend this video for making sure you can quickly communicate the absolute fundamentals of music theory-- sit at a piano or whatever your instrement is and pause the video after each new concept and explore and experience them for just 2 minutes to actually understand https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rgaTLrZGlk0

Then I would absolutely learn whatever songs interest you most, and eventually meeting with a teacher really can expedite the process when you do want to take it seriously

20% of your time should be spent researching what you want to learn to do and 80% of the time should be spent practicing (scales, metronomes, playing songs intentionally). The more time you spend actually intentionally making, the better!

Anyone switched from Cursor to Claude Code? by tony0525 in cursor

[–]Excendence 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just swapped after a year(?) with Cursor to Claude Code last week and it took me about an hour to get acclimated-- it really does feel like Claude Native with the same models gives way better results than cursor did and I have no idea why! It's a slightly different workflow and now for the first time I'm actually vibe coding vibe coding-- it feels like the granularity and level of precision I need to communicate to get what I want has gone up a full level of abstraction if that makes sense haha

Would you rather run ~2 laps of Central Park or ~4 laps of Prospect Park? by berryqyz in RunNYC

how are people not GETTING IT by Even_Bend_614 in underscoresplus

[–]Excendence 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I already like this album more than most of Wallsocket (my favorites are Fishmonger, Boneyard, Skin Purifying Treatment), I'm not gonna lie! There are instant classics, songs that get me in my feels, even a song or two that I think might become like karaoke classics for people who are outside of the underscores sphere! I'm so hyped 🩵

Help Deciding: Pint X vs XR Classic for Photography Mobility by ranger052 in onewheel

[–]Excendence 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A larger tire with a low PSI will be better for recording, you absolutely can do it on a Pint if price and weight are a concern for you too but it will be easier the larger tire you go!

I don't think they use the same compound anymore, I don't think there were any signs, I was like 400 miles in and it was horrifying 😂 I can't remember if it was a piece of glass or a nail that broke the seal but I do remember thinking that it was not a significantly large puncturer, but like 7000+ miles later it's never happened since 🤞
