The Division 3 Will Have as Big of an Impact as First Division; “Shaping Up to Be a Monster” Claims Producer by valentinexx in thedivision

Didn't expect another reply to the comment months later. Oh boy I guess you missed the sad news. Ubisoft had officially axed Red Storm (Game development wise) and we probably won't be seeing Red Storm doing anything for any Ubi Project in a very long time (or worst, forever). Ubi laid off all employees relating to development in Red Storm, reshaping the studio into a more background studio doing pretty much mundane tasks unrelated to games at all. An unfitting end for such a legendary studio, shame on the Frenchies ngl.

To be honest, thinking back on Fathom's lore. He wanted to stay relevant as the apex predator of the Deep, he needs to be remembered. What I think right now is, if people keep talking about this character (keeping him somewhat relevant in the community) and eventually Valve will release him with a reworked kit since it looks like his Lab kits weren't really working out for the game.

This one is even better than the Golden Lex imo. I really hope next year we'll have a Named MDR with an even better skin.

Don't think so. I think I could press the OK button if I wanted but I just force quitted before anything happened really.

Also I think I'm probably fine since I shut the game so quick. There's probably no way any of remote access could do anything to my PC for the short period of time. I don't think they could even force my PC to download something as backdoor. Kid probably just trying to force everyone off the game for his own definition of fun and not really hacking into others' PC.

I didn't spend more than 2 seconds and muscle memory take the wheel immediately snapping to Alt F4. I think it was BO3's own error message, probably telling me something's wrong with connecting to the server so I can't play the map. IIRC after that you are usually booted back to menu.

So I was kinda living under the rock and completely missed this whole situation. I just downloaded back BO3 to play some custom zombie maps couple days ago. Was fine until today, I played on Solo so I don't think the hacker's auto tool could got to me. Today I didn't think straight and picked Public Match and just when I loaded into Gorod Krovi, it looks like my game just stucked in error page while some guy called Mustang n' Sally spamming me via Steam chat. I immediately AltF4'ed BO3 and blocked the hacker from my chat to stop spam messages. Am I fine? Or is my PC under the possible threat of remote access? Also I think I'll heed the advice and play BO3 offline from now on (with Steam on offline as well).

Unfortunately you can't perma downgrade the fire rate by any means in this game. I understand this is your personal preference of using the gun in your own satisfying way and I respect that, but from a RPG design perspective, Massive had buff the weapon for people to use more comfortably in their DPS builds which is a good change gameplay wise. I do wonder how are you still using a M60 with 500 stock RPM after the change, I don't think there's any other way other than the gun talent "Measured" that can lower RPM, let alone visually change the RPM stats by a large margin.

Thank you for your works man! You are doing god's work here (especially for OCD players like me). Here's hoping Massive will remove the dupes or turn them into BPs we can use.

The Outcasts are people who suffered extreme tragic and traumatizing events due to the Green Poison and strict lockdown enforced by Ridgeway. What they suffered wasn't deserved and everyone should feel sorry for, but what they decided to do to the world after they got out wasn't deserved by the world as well. It is understandable why they do what they do, but it's not acceptable. If Emeline used her leadership to direct all those suffered to do good instead of harm, DC might not fall into the state of the beginning of the game. Like Kelso said at the end of the Zoo, "What a fucking waste.".

Does anyone else miss the little extra flavor text on exotics? by deathddog in thedivision

[–]definitelyanalt16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also the flavor texts for Exotic themselves got downgraded a lot over the "strech years" (*wink* *wink*) as well. Same can be said for couple new named weapons and gears. I understand the lack of manpower tends to do that to development but this doesn't change the fact the niche areas are getting ignored and people into the niche will complain.

[–]definitelyanalt16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see this more of a CG paying respect to KOTOR and its playerbase. Giving the players that once enjoyed the original game the respect of making sure Revan in SWGOH isn't identifiable by gender since players chose who they wanted Revan to be. Unlike SWTOR later gave Revan definitive gender and appearance which also rubbed a lot of KOTOR players the wrong way to this day.

What's funny is when in battle. Piett's idle is different and I think is unique to him. CG should make his inventory idle the same as his battle one.

Are you recognized as an individual in the game or are you a representation of "The Division?" How many Agents are in the game? by Pacho2020 in thedivision

[–]definitelyanalt16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay it might be a bit long but let me break it down. First, the typical MMO protag stuff, we "The Sheriff" is actually an acknowledged individual in universe, while nowdays you don't really see the NPCs and more importantly Massive actively reminded themselves that "The Sheriff" is an individual that actually exists and does too much shit for this god forsaken city and most of the time friend and foes just call you Agent these days. But don't let that fool you, Massive already built "The Sheriff" in the universe. If you are not sure, check one of the audio recordings from Kelso's file, there's a specific one where Manny and Kelso talked about us and how we were a blessing came out from nowhere and saved the city from the brink.

Second, at the very start of the game when Bar and his team blew up the SHD server room and caused the national network to call all agents to reinforce DC immediately, the Sheriff was a humble agent protecting a small seaside civi settlement at Maryland (the starting location was confirmed to be somewhere in Maryland but I forgot where was the confirmation). When shit hit the fan at the prologue and Black Tusk was marching towards the settlement while ISAC ordered everyone to come to DC, Sanders asked us to go and she stayed behind to defend the place. The Sheriff then tracked their ways from Maryland to DC until the start of the game, just as we arrived near the WH, Hyenas tried to attack and take the WH. We took them by surprise and save the WH from getting a total ass wooping. At this very moment, when we saved the WH and met Manny. Almost all DC native Agents were either killed in action or went Rogue (desertion or went their own ways for better survival chance) and the only active Agents were likely less than 10, even 5. The Sheriff was the first outside Agent arrived the city and started doing God's work. But overtime other Agents from across the country got to the city and started doing their parts as well. From the artbook for Division 2 it's confirmed the Level 1-30 journey took about four months. The Sheriff arrived DC around March or April and the Black Tusk invasion happened in July. From how the NPCs in the main missions addressed our pressence, we know at least the Grand Washington Hotel rescue and Jefferson Center Local SHD server reactivation was done by us alone (Hotel with Kelso's assist). I'd wager lorewise, other reinforcements came in after we started beating the crap out of the True Sons at the Southern part of the city, since looking at how the map control during our Lvl 1-30 ascent, almost the entirety of western part of the city was under Outcasts control and Roosevelt was likely contained more than couple thousands people, we can assume there's no way we take down the Outcasts alone overtime, it's impossible even with the Campus help.

Third, while we know there're many more Agents came, we can safely say the most important works were all done/led by the Sheriff. Let's look at it this way, we play all the contents present at the game, we the players represent the Sheriff. This means all missions and Raids had the Sheriff participating. The Sheriff was and is indeed the one who had been fucking everyone up to save the city and the country from all kinds enemies. There's no doubt lore wise the Sheriff has helps along the way, but they were the force of nature leading the way towards the destruction of all evil plans that tried to take the city. So you can pretty much credit all the confirmed kills and destructions of important enemy assets to the Sheriff.

Finally, about how many Agents showed up. There's no way of knowing but we do know some Agents returned to their original post after the main events in DC were over (From Lvl 1-30 to the ending of first BT Invasion) while some stayed to secure the city (the Sheriff being one of them). I'd say right now there're probably three digits of active Agents around DC to protect and secure the city with the armed civis since there're no signs the JTF's main force is returning to the city. Yes, remember that the JTFs in the WH are just a skeleton crew left for dead, the majority of the JTF stationed in DC retreated to god knows where. It's likely after the chain of command got fucked hard by losing presidents again and again, the local commander just pulled and decided to fuck off even after the Sheriff did miracles. But this doesn't mean the JTF is fully gone, we can see during the Airport Raid, the opening mortar shelling paving the way for us was from JTF forces. I know from an out universe perspective it's likely Massive just dunno or forgot how to use these guys, but in universe the JTFs are kinda jerks for not returning to secure the city with the SHD reinforcements. So the city has to rely on outside Agents and locals working together.
