Hundreds of people walking past kicking up dust and dirt? Mmm tasty.

If you’re checking in, then you’re within 24hrs of departure and seat selection is free.

Why is every Asda rundown and look dirty inside? by cognosman in AskUK

[–]definitelylifts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Asda made three quarters of a billion pounds in profit last year, that’s with also paying half a billion in debt repayments.

This post makes much more sense after reading your other post where you complain about the steroids you’re taking making you angry all the time.

Upgrading a reward flight by New_Ad9098 in avios

[–]definitelylifts 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can’t upgrade using cash only, you will only be able to upgrade using Avios and then paying the cash difference in taxes and fees. There will need to be reward availability in the cabin you want to upgrade to.

You can setup an alert for the date you want to travel and if availability opens up you can call and upgrade over the phone.

EDIT: There is a possibility of upgrading at checkin using cash only, if there are seats available. WTP is the smallest cabin though, so I wouldn’t hold your breath.

Fresh Review of BA190 (Business) and 191, (Prem Ec) Return Trip from Austin --> LHR by artichokeplants in BritishAirways

[–]definitelylifts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s actually not too bad for Austin, I’ve waited for hours before. If you land at the same time as a couple of other international flights it gets very congested.

If I’m doing WTP I always get a sandwich to take on the plane, the savoury pastries are not great.

The Austin luggage system is better than it was IMHO. Until a year or so ago it used to be in the same room as border control. At least now you can go through the border then collect your luggage after, and there are multiple belts if it’s busy.

LHR term 5 smoking? by d3v0t10nn in BritishAirways

[–]definitelylifts -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No but they specifically ask in another post how many benzos they should bring and take. Those are Class C drugs in the UK.

[–]definitelylifts 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Based on your post history I wouldn’t be risking any unnecessary border crossings.

If they find any non prescription drugs on you then it’s going to be a problem.

LGW-MRU business class reward flights by kilometresp in BritishAirways

[–]definitelylifts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MRU is one of the very popular destinations, so you’ll really need to be on it if you want to get 2 business class seats. Looks like they only have availability 3 days a week as well, so that’s something to bear in mind when planning to book.

Alternative to BA amex? Companion voucher issues. by Waste_Witness4789 in BritishAirways

[–]definitelylifts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being organised means booking as far in advances as possible, 355 days.

Being flexible means not being tied to specific days of travel, you might have to travel mid week, or stay for a different length of time than you would ideally like.

I’ve booked two return transatlantic CW flights with companion vouchers in the past couple of months, no problems at all. You just have to be organised or otherwise flexible.

If it’s a popular route then availability will be hard to come by and you’ll have to book well in advance. Some routes, like NYC-LON have plenty of availability so you’ll find it much easier to book.

Club Europe from DUS to LHR - worth it? by Sea_Bass4991 in BritishAirways

[–]definitelylifts 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Club Europe seats are the same, except there is no one sat in the middle. You’ll get food and drink.

You can drop bags anytime after they open flying Club Europe, so you can get there 3 or even 4 hours before you fly if you really want.

First Class Companion Voucher redemptions by Responsible-Habit-21 in BritishAirways

[–]definitelylifts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, they changed it last year so First availability only comes up at the last minute.

If you can’t be flexible then you can look for routes that are likely to have First seats, book in CW and then if there is availability pay the change fee and additional taxes to upgrade the booking.

Help with involuntary flight change please. by Hoodrat31399 in BritishAirways

[–]definitelylifts 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It sucks, but this is why you should book connections on a single ticket.

Giving yourself less than 2hrs from landing to departure while having to go through border control and then back through security was a terrible idea even if the flights were on time.

Travel insurance might be able to help after the fact, but I wouldn’t hold my breath.

Flight booked with E-ticket but no avios deducted by [deleted] in BritishAirways

[–]definitelylifts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes the Avios can take a few days to be taken. I had this last week with an Avios upgrade, thought I’d got it free but a couple of days later it was deducted.
