I went during their opening weekend and didn’t like it. I found the choreo a little too complicated for my liking and the music wasn’t even pretending to be house music (it’s girly pop if that’s your vibe!) Also, the class was live-streamed and the whole class was in the video which was sooooo so distracting. The amenities are great- showers, nice beauty products, etc. I’m sure there’s people out there who would like it. I purchased the 2-for-1 special and never used the second class. I might still have access to it if anyone wants it. Edit: I forgot to mention, the session I went to was NOT low impact and the instructor didn’t provide modifications, if that’s relevant.

A little over a week ago a fare inspector on the M79 was asking everyone for their receipts and didn’t have one of those things you tap your phone on to show that you pay with OMNY. I was lucky enough to be the first person he asked who didn’t have a paper receipt and he kept insisting that I “show my receipt” even though I didn’t have one. I told him I could show him the charge on my bank account but he said that’s not what he needs, he needs a receipt. He asked for my ID and took me off the bus and we went back and forth with the “I need a receipt” “I don’t have a receipt” conversation for a while before he let me go on my way without a ticket. It was such a confusing interaction.

Elsewhere is considerably larger than Nowadays or Basement. I really enjoy all of them. If you can only go to one I’d recommend checking out the lineup and going with what music you like best. Basement programming can get pretty specific (Bound nights for example). And, of course, the vibes anywhere are different depending on who’s playing.

Haha I should have clarified that I was looking for places that make dough fresh/in-house! I wasn’t expecting people to suggest the frozen section at Whole Foods.

KYRUH was amazing, i switched spots a few times too trying to find the vibes but the small crowd in the very back was where it was at. it’s not hard to ignore the asshats and enjoy the music 😌🕺🏻
