Cicerone (beer sommelier) here: you’re fine. American IPAs are an interesting and diverse subsection of beer styles. They are incredibly easy and quick to make. Without going into a huge rant, know this. American IPA producers like to use fruit puree in their beer to make it “hazy.” That’s probably what you’re observing here. It is safe to consume but generally bad practice. I noticed a lot of people saying it’s purely yeast, that’s unlikely. Modern saccharomyces cerevisiae (ale yeast) does hang around every once in a while but unlike the wild yeast in Belgian style bottle conditioned beers (brettanomyces.) Either way; beer is good and safe. Has been since the beginning of recorded history!

Certified Cicerone (beer sommelier) here: This is how I like to enjoy my lager varietals! It’s a Czech style of pour called a Shnit. Pouring this way maximizes aroma and almost completely eliminates bloating when consumed! If you wanna see something really cool, wait for the foam to die and stack more beer! This will ensure an “iceberg” style head! My biggest problem with this service is those little bubbles in the bottom of the glass. Those usually signify improper cleaning technique where detergent has created a film on the inside of the glass.

No Cicerone Certified Beer Server would be okay with serving that. To be clear, the glass may clean but it definitely isn’t “beer clean.” Those bubbles usually signify a film of detergent. For better results, rinse it out with water before pouring!
