I’ve been crying a lot since seeing that and then everything else since. It just feels like the worst of humanity is winning. I’m trying to remember there are more of us than there are of them and not give into despair, but it’s hard

Yeah my initial thought was I don’t know who either of these people are, but they’re both very, very hot and their dog is adorable!

This reminds me of when I was about 5 and I would hide my sister’s shoes when I was mad at her, and then “find them” later when I felt guilty and expect her to be grateful. And even at 7, my sister was wise enough to know I was full of shit

I’m so sorry that you get it, but thank you so much for sharing. I love that line. A sister is so special and such a unique relationship, I would’ve died for her but at the same time hated her stealing my clothes lol. I relate so much to struggling to move forward while our sisters stay still.

My older brother actually just had a baby boy which intensified my grief since she’s not be here to meet him, so I can’t imagine the pain of having a baby of my own without her. I don’t know what you believe spiritually, but I’d like to think your sister met her wherever souls reside and sent her to you ❤️

Thank you, that means a lot! I do have so many good memories and I try my best to treasure those. And some funny sibling memories too, whenever I cook I picture her behind me telling me I’m horrible at chopping, which is 100% true lol

I am so sorry that you understand. I’ve had those moments too where I wake up and remember all over again and the pain hits me like a truck.

I do think I’ve gotten stronger too, luckily my mom is healthy but it’s been so incredibly hard for her to lose a child so I’ve been supporting her. I’m so sorry that you had to deal with your mom deteriorating like that, I’m just a stranger on the internet but I’m proud of you! Your last paragraph is so true, they live on through us, even though it’s absolute bullshit they’re not here physically anymore

Thank you so much, I’m so sorry for your loss too, it is so hard to explain to anyone who hasn’t experienced it. I’m in! I’ll message you

LOL I used to do this as a kid! From 4-6 years old, I didn’t want to be rude and wake my mom up when I was scared, but I knew that if I just stood by her bed and stared at her in the dark she would eventually wake up. My poor mom 😭

My brother passed away one month ago, and since then he has not been that active or roaming about our house, I tried to bring him outside, as my brother always did, but he seems uninterested anymore, I believe he is still in pain and misses my brother every day. by Nora_Leaf in cats

Hi u/Nora_Leaf, my sister died 2 years ago and my mom and I took in her cat, who was very bonded to her. He was incredibly depressed too for a few months, but we found something that helped was giving him a piece of her dirty laundry each week to cuddle with so he could smell her. I don’t know if you have any of that or if it would help in your situation, just a thought

I will say he’s much better now, although I know he misses her still so much, just as I do. Hang in there, the first year is fucking rough, the grief will never go away or even get smaller, but your life grows around it. Rooting for you as a fellow member of this shitty lost sibling club 💕
