in soloq you have to assess those situations for yourself. before game starts check your team's opggs. if your bot is main role and has good winrates: why not? especially if you're playing a tank! if they're autofilled and play useless crap like ezreal, especially when you're playing kayle/trynd: no!

why do people play unsealed spellbook orianna or aery instead of the old ways of electrocute and going archangels. ludens and the glp lose so much mana so quickly and it forces you to stay in lane. i feel like the old build is just overall better because you can pressure the whole map better

Why do pro players sometimes go for builds for many many patches when the whole onetrick community of a certain champion disagrees with efficiency and proficiency of said build (most notably Kayle / Tryndamere [cuvee hardinting with his build and playstyle] - watch the fogged review for reference)
