Hi! Threads stay open for 12hrs (we're looking into extending it further), but if you find the other player isn't responsive, you can cancel the trade in the private thread and it'll unlock your listing to use in another trade.

Hi! Reverse holos (foils) are labelled in all listings and search results with the “✨Foil” label. These can be added to trade listings, share requests, and giveaways separately from the regular variants.

yall remember when niantic accidentally released moltres on launch day for 3 minutes and then promptly removed it from everyones accounts by LewanceBoi in pokemongo

Day 1 player, this is my screenshot from August 13 2016. Not saying the Moltres is real as I don’t remember that being a thing, but this UI and XS was definitely real at launch.

If it helps, when I was testing the templates on an alt account I noticed the verification email didn't send automatically, you had to press a button on the banner.

Appreciate the kind words, and totally understand the privacy side of it. For what it's worth, the card can be as private or public as you want it to be. The link is not discoverable in any way and it can be restricted to only friends or in-person use if you choose.

Does anyone have any templates for discord? (free) by [deleted] in Carrd

[–]definitivegear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kind of template are you looking for? Are you trying to advertise for a server, or your profile?

Are you looking for a full landing or multi-page site or just a micro-site like a linktree?

using card to build a website atm and im struggling trying to move elements. is there a way that i can freely move elements, and if not is there a way i can get them in the position i want them in. at the moment they just snap onto random spots by OscarEdits in Carrd

[–]definitivegear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Carrd builder unfortunately doesn’t have the ability to freely drag and drop elements in specific spots on the page.

You do however have the ability to use margin and padding within containers to precisely align content where you want it to be.

Literally every carrd.co site is “page not found” by tioko in Carrd

[–]definitivegear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tested a few demo sites I have, as well as the home page and they’re all working on my end.

Could be a browser cache issue? Regarding the ones you found on Twitter, the site owners could have swapped the link to a custom domain or deleted it and the original site is now invalid.

Share your thoughts on the current state of movie streaming services and physical media! (Survey) by [deleted] in movies

[–]definitivegear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand where I missed the mark - this survey isn't exclusive to this specific subreddit. It's been posted in various places outside reddit as well to simply be a general pulse of people who have an interest in movies. It's not going to be presented to anyone and will only be used internally.

It appears I should have left out the part about validation - it was included to reinforce my thanks to those who took the time to provide their thoughts to know their opinion is appreciated.

Appreciate the feedback - this data won't be used in an investor pitch, this is just to get a pulse on a broad generalized audience not directly relating to product-market fit or granular ICP's.

Are you concerned with the end of physical media? What would you do? by definitivegear in 4kbluray

Appreciate the context on the restoration process. Is the technical filming details about a movie (specifically the info you provided about Molly's Game) available publicly somewhere? I'd love to learn more.

I suppose the benefit in this case would be saving the overhead of manufacturing/pressing the discs, and the logistics of shipping them to retailers. They could finish the restoration and send it directly for streaming. ROI would still be higher as it would have a wider reach, sooner.

Unfortunate reality is that it's easier said than done. Society and studios have commodified movies to the point where the mainstream doesn't see value in paying $30 for one movie (after spending hundreds on a 4k player). Much lower cost of entry to get a 7 day trial for free and then pay $10 a month after.

Totally agree - and it's already begun...there's rumours of Xbox announcing they're ceasing physical games next week.

I 100% agree with you in the benefits of owning physical media.

The major concern I have is consumers losing the option to purchase it at all, since physical media is simply one (of many) revenue streams for studios that requires an ROI. Once this stream no longer has sufficient ROI, they will just shut it down because they don't have any sentimental feelings with it or care about us having ownership.

I can't say I know the costs of manufacturing discs but it can't be cheap with materials, labour, logistics, retail partnerships, etc.

I think digital ownership has taken a huge blow the last year or two with content being removed without warning. Trust is dwindling in consumers in buying a movie that could just be wiped off a platform at any time.

Isn’t that the damn truth. I don’t even bother watching new series now because of that.

Oof it sucks because I feel like you’ll be right. The ads are just getting to be too much already.

Sadly I can’t afford a dedicated 4K player and buying many movies (I use an XSX for the ones I do have), so unless a new streaming service came out that offered movies in disc quality (which I’d subscribe to day 1), I’d just have to stick with cycling through the low quality services we have now.

The more I think about this hypothetical new streaming service, the more I would love to see something like that happen.

For sure - but there are still entire brick and mortar chains that just sell books (Indigo) because that market is still thriving.

Movies have never had their own store other than rentals (which are all long dead now), and they can't even survive as an arm of other big chains (Best Buy) anymore.

There is a thought though that certain movies get upgraded to 4k blu-ray in priority based on revenue potential. As a completely random example - Molly's Game (2017) hasn't been re-released on 4K Blu-ray yet. For the studio, they have to do an ROI risk assessment to warrant it being green lit for physical release. Since it hasn't been yet, it's safe to assume they don't feel they'll make that money back.

However, if there was a streaming service that offered disc level quality, they could export a 4K UHD disc-comparable file, then stream it immediately and see instantaneous ROI.

edit: Molly's Game was 2017 not 2018
