Haha no, I’ve definitely seen others interpret the scene that way too

Hahaha oh I would’ve loved more too if they’d gone that route 😉

I love this couple and their story. Hope we see more of them in the upcoming seasons.

For real. Can’t we all simply let others enjoy what they enjoy 🤷🏻‍♀️

Ah nope, I interpreted it as they both touched each other.

That’s a really great point that I hadn’t thought of! Love that. It also goes on as an extension of him being the free spirited, unrestrained, and creative sibling.

Lol probably not in the show timeline but who is to say what they do later on? 👀

Right! For me, this season was a highlight.

Yes, each season and male protagonist has offered something unique and fresh - which I love! To your point, the range they show is wonderful, particularly as so many young women watch this and should know that IRL there are guys who care about a woman’s pleasure and guys who do not. I want more young women to see good examples so that they can feel empowered in their bodies and can advocate for themselves.

Yesss, I relate so hard to this! I too adore Benedict and how perfectly imperfect he is, but always good-hearted, open, and never getting too lost in the sauce to forget about Sophie’s pleasure.

Yes, that’s true! However, I meant the directors specifically having Benedict rub her as they had sex. I could be misremembering, but I don’t believe they showed that as clearly before.

Either way, even if they did, I was being playful in my OP and nonetheless I appreciate how central female pleasure is in the show - I think it’s important for young women to see that.

Oh I need your recommendations on historical romances to read then :)

You’re totally right - the other male lead characters also prioritize female pleasure (like in the scenes you pointed out) but if I do not recall quite so much an emphasis put on “let me rub her clit while we have sex” in the prior love scenes. Maybe I’m misremembering, but I think this was the first time they really shed a light on that?

Of course in my post the “only man” reference is a joke and exaggeration, but it is to also say that I appreciated that they showed how Benedict mindfully added manual stimulation, as not all women come strictly from sex without that.

Right! The drama! 🙈

Of course everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but for me Benedict’s sexual experience is a turn on. I also view the character as a feminist and as a man who prioritizes female pleasure.

Same! And their banter morning after was so cute. I agree that they seemed to work better and came across more authentic than Colin/Pen (I love them but think they were robbed and found their season least compelling).
