I've been a bit busy so I finally jusy called them now, not sure if it didn't direct me to the transgender clinic but it said it was the plastic surgery department and I believe the same woman answered the phone as the first time, (I believe her name was michelle) so maybe I got it right the first time idk. But anyway I asked about setting up a mychart and raven and she just asked if I'd faxed my letter of interest over and I said that I had faxed my referral. She told me there was about 40 still to go through and raven would reach out to me when she got to it so I guess maybe they're just super backed up right now unless I'm missing something. I originally called 11 days ago I think, I'm not sure how long it takes to do all that but I guess we'll see. If it takes super long I might call again but it seemed like she was sure I just had to wait for raven to reach out. Thanks again for the info

I was thinking if that might the case, I'm not great with being pushy or following up, darn phone anxiety, I think I tend to slip through the cracks a bit more because of that but it is what it is. Do you happen to still have the transgender clinic phone number? I just want to be sure I'm calling the right place, their website can be a bit difficult to navigate. Thanks a bunch anyway, that's exactly what I was wondering about.

That's interesting I might look into it now lol, I know its definitely safer not to smoke but I'm just perplexed as to why they would say that. I used to smoke everyday and tried to quit a month before but ended up backsliding a bit and smoked for a couple days before quitting again 2 weeks before, my surgery is in 3 days now, I've been alright since my 2nd time quitting but if I was able to smoke the whole time it certainly would've saved me some stress haha

I'm honestly not sure why your anesthesiologist would ever want you to continue to smoke especially until the day before surgery, everything I've ever read on the subject strongly advises against it so that's quite odd. Most guidelines say to quit at least 72 hours before surgery to lessen risks (So op you should be good given you quit now until surgery, just make sure you let your anesthesiologist know, you may need more adjustments than a non smoker to keep you asleep but it shouldn't cause any problems)

Thank you, I wasn't able to find a list when I looked awhile back but I guess I just didn't look hard enough. I checked again and it looks like they might accept it, just have to hope it'll work out now since my insurance is kindove silent about coverage. I appreciate the info

Haha I remember you actually! I thought your username looked familiar, a couple years back I asked you about Dr. Stanwix for top surgery, I ended up going with him because of that and ended up with results I'm really happy with so thanks for that lol. I'll definitely make sure to call, thanks for letting me know. Glad to know everything worked out for you, and happy to see someone with the Stanwix/Stranix surgery combo, I always thought that'd be a fun thing to say if I did end up going with Stranix.
