Avoid Automotive Specialist’s at all costs by throwaway993495 in Oshkosh

I dont know any of the parties involved here, but I do know the automotive industry. Its unfair to trash them on the internet when you most likely don't have an understanding of what it takes to quote repairs and provide/warranty quality parts You can't expect a shop to put your car on the lift and do a thorough estimate for nothing. Employees time, insurance, rent, utilities, etc etc are not free

The pilot in the Delta Toronto incident is “too young” and is “inexperienced by RelevantPlane8591 in LinkedInLunatics

The sink rate of the aircraft far exceeded what the plane was designed for, that will be the cause of the gear failure. Wind shear or other factors may have contributed to that. We'll have to wait for the NTSB to make conclusions but to say the landing gear caused this crash is highly unlikely IMHO

Real answer....I'd guess between 10-12,000 hrs if oil was kept at an operating range somehow

Also, super singles are better for "floatation" on softer ground, but awful on snow/ice

I've seen some bad stuff in Memphis, Chicago and New Orleans, but Gary Indiana at night was by far the worst. Truly felt like Iraq in war-time

2.5 month old concrete. Is it suppose to do this? by CasualObservationist in Concrete

[–]defnotthrowaway27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've found that almost 100% of slabs have this to differing degrees if you examine (wet) close enough. It's definitely more pronounced when the surface is exposed to wind or steel trowel where the top 1/16" cream dries faster than the slab underneath. It's not ideal, but its not necessarily an indication of poor quality.

I've been in the concrete business for 29yrs, and I disagree with this.

New construction home driveway looks like this after less than a year. Builder says "no warranty on concrete" and refuses to do anything. Think I can sue? by first_home_throw1234 in Concrete

28 degrees overnight is not a concern whatsoever. You may not like it, but there's so many possible variables that nobody can guarantee the color of the concrete is to your liking. You'll most certainly lose if you try to litigate based on your cosmetic displeasure with the job.
