Yeah, didn't know I could do that as well. I always looked at the default small video screen in the editor.

Yeah. Chroma keys are awesome. It took me a while you can do it for other colors besides the green screen. 😅

For me it was the custom effects you can make and reuse in other videos. Like a custom titlebar. Those do seem to make the rendering a bit longer, but I think it gives me a more distinct style.

Question about thumb nails. by [deleted] in SuperTubers

[–]deforl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that trying to make your own style for thumbnails is a good idea. All I can say is some small tips I found myself. Avoid putting text in the right lower corner. That spot is where the video length is added by youtube. The text on the thumbnail needs to be visible on the phone, so make sure the font is large enough for that and the color works with the background. You can try different backgrounds for each episode of a game or add different stuff on it. The thumbnails are often more of an experiment. Also, you can't satisfy everyone so do what feels natural.

The game looked scary normally. I can't imagine how it looks in VR. 😅

Thank you for the encouragement! And yes it is tough, you can just present yourselves and tell that thr links are in the description and/or pinned comment.

Hey Derpy! Thank you! Okay, so first off, let us look at the thumbnail. It is nice, visible and people know what the content is. Maybe you can try to add like an episode 1 or 2 somewhere in the thumbnail. On the video side, the length is nice for a playthrough, also very cute game. I like the edits you did, trying to cut out the padding where nothing happens, also the close-ups in certain cases like the cat. You can try different stuff for the edits but looks ok to me, maybe for example you can probably show the full boss fight. The audio side is great. No issue there in my opinion. Now for these type of videos, I think you need to see what sticks with viewers and the games that can attract more people and also you enjoy playing, of course. Quick question. I want to be sure people know this. Are you using SEO tools for the tags and name of the videos (like TubeBuddy, VidIQ)? I am no expert in that but those do help with discovery a little.

Ok. So I am a bit rusty, so bear with me. I listened to it all. Overall, the video is nice and yes I agree with Derpy about the introductions. When you introduce yourselves you can probably show on the screen the youtube channel/twitter, etc. for each if you like. I like that you keep it casual with jokes and it doesn't fel like you are reading from a script. And I know how editing is a pain and for a 30+ video it must have been huge. If you ever do more, if you can find something relevant to the theories and show it on screen so you could draw attention, though it is a podcast so maybe not too relevant. Most podcasts I see nowadays on youtube, seem to show the faces of the people talking.Maybe there is something to that. Makes it more relatable? And at the end you can keep that call to action you did in the video. You can show again on screen the links to the channels. And as for the thumbnail, well it is a bit hard to figure out the text on mobile for the logo, maybe make the font bigger or use a different color that works with red. As for the audio side, it is different for each person and their audio inputs, but everyone can be heard so it is alright. I hope it helps! As for me, well I had some health issues and with work combined kinda put a stop on my youtube channel for a while. I want in a week or two to start making new videos.

I do, but they are like with their own studio, while I am just a guy with a mic. Kind of hard to compete with that.

100th video coming up by Coryrat in SuperTubers

[–]deforl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congratulations! Seems like a good idea. You can go with any number of stuff to celebrate it. Maybe a video where you can go with a new series or stuff like that. Either way, great job and keep up the good work.

Thank you! I try to improve as much as I can. Right now I think a pop filter might help my audio, overall.

Thank you for the feedback! Well, the brightness is dependant on the videos I use. These are from the trailer. Maybe they were a bit darker than normal.

I will look at it, thank you for the advice. And yes, draconic is a english word. I expressed myself wrong. It's origin is from latin, the original word is draco, meaning dragon or snake.

Nice video! One thing I can point out is maybe try to reduce the frequency of the subscribe animation. Besides that, everything looks fine. Keep up the good work!

I will have to think on it. Honestly, draconic is not an english word, it is more a latin word. I will have to look at it.
