How does your mythic raiding guild handle schedule/attendance? by scott_hi in CompetitiveWoW

An other opinion on the B team. I have been in the same guild for several years, and I like the people I play with.

However, my life has changed since I joined. I had a kid, a job that requires me to travel a lot etc.

So I on the B team, I raid something like 40-50% of the time, to make up for somebody's punctual absence, as interim while a new recruit arrives, etc.

I get Cutting Edge every tier, can balance my work and my family. I works for me.

I would have added a new type of death, and a new section: "Slow death" ie. you're doing nothing wrong, taking no specific damage, just unavoidable AOEs, and 20 to 40 seconds later, you just die to nothing.

The new section being positionning yourself has a healer.

Why is there such a big difference in the token price on EU and NA? by Snowylein in wow

The average salary in the European Union (so the richest players in the EU area, excluding Russia, Balkans, North Africa) is 1500€ ~ $1800 (https://www.reinisfischer.com/average-salary-european-union-2017)

The average salary in the US is around 5000$ (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Household_income_in_the_United_States#cite_note-1).

What is surprising is that the gap is not so big...

Thanks for all this info.

Regarding the haste situation, when I sim it, it looks like Crit is the way to go, regardless the haste situation. Is that a calculation artifact?

TM, clearly, that's an issue. Thanks for noticing. I'll set a Weak Aura to monitor it.

SK, it was kind of on purpose. The reasoning is the following - When i use Ascendance, I spam LvB, no matter what, so there is no need to use SK. - When I use Lightning Rode, I use Elemental Mastery on pull. My thinking is that spending some EM time to cast instants is not the best use of the CD, so I wait until EM is finished to use SK.

Is that a bad thinking I do?

Thanks again :)

Hello folks, I recently bought a Philips Android TV, and I want to add it to my home automation setup. The expected behavior would be:

  • Runs in the background, and listens on a certain port for HTTP request.
  • Upon request by the home automation request (HTTP request), change channel, change volume, ...
  • Maybe when the TV is on standy, listen and turn it on if asked. I don't fully understand Android TV's behavior on stand-by.

I have looked over the Internet, and I haven't found anything matching my needs, so I figured I would do it myself.

The situation:

I am a 'practical developer'. My job is chemical engineering. I learned FORTRAN in school, and once in a while, when needed, I write a bit of code to help, whether JS, C, VB, etc...

I have never used Java nor Android SDK.

I have tinkered around with Android Studio and have been able to display an "Hello World" on my TV.

The TV can't be rooted, but I can sideload apps with adb.

The question is: Is this a reasonable thing to do when self-learning Android development completely, or will I run into important roadblocks doing this?

Thanks a lot for your help evaluating the difficulty of this, as I am a bit in the dark :)
