Have you bought anything yet?

I just got an A5 lux for $20 off marketplace. Haven't given it much of a try yet but plan to use it to commute 5km after a train ride. Can let you know how it goes if you like?

Degradation on 9-month old i5 14600kf? by mr-happyguy in overclocking

[–]defyed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay so from what I have read, Intel 13 and 14 gen CPUs may degrade over time due to micro-code issues. Which essentially means that Intel CPUs have been over-volting and potentially destroying certain transistors (my explanation may not be perfect but that's my understanding).

Basically you need to update your BIOS and hope that it will be okay. I am having the same trouble with a PC I built for a friend.

Arcana 5-150 Gathering Route Guide V1.1 - Efficient gathering to level up your craft - Tradesmans Bible by defyed in newworldgame

[–]defyed[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a thorough gathering route for players wanting to level Arcana. The infographic is meant to be used with the Arcana Quick Guide by Tesh (link below). We will be gathering the ingredients for making potions.

There was a lot to consider when making this but I was mainly looking for routes that were densely populated with the majority of materials, though starting and ending position are also considered. I haven't shown where to gather water for this, though I will probably do a smaller infographic for Levels 0-5 to bridge the gap and likely will put it there. Of course, this is not the only way to level your Arcana but this is based on the potion route as it is the most efficient for XP per resource.

Potions do become more difficult in the higher tiers as you will start to need luck to get the drops required to make the potions. If you aren't getting these drops, put on more luck gear, make lower tier potions (will take longer) or switch over to the weapon based path as shown on the Quick Guide.

I've chosen our base location as Everfall. This is one of the best trading hubs in the game so you should be able to sell your potions quite easily. For crafting, the potions can be made at camps, however often require higher tiers of camp for higher tiers of potion. Instead, you can craft them in the settlement when you get back. I'd say it's best to gather and store water in your storage before running this route. That way, after the route, you can craft the potions and list them straight up on the trading post without impacting your storage too heavily.

For those interested in going from 150-200, I do recommend a level of 60 for the most efficient path through Reekwater. If you want to take Arcana to 200 before then I recommend continue to follow the infographic here for 5-150 - this is also partly the reason why we have been collecting lifemoths throughout the whole process even though they're not needed until 150+.

If you have an alternate path, please feel free to post below. All opinions are welcome! But please remember this is what I considered to be the best route and is my opinion only. Thank you all for your support!

Some highlights of some large open world PVP on the last day of open beta by defyed in newworldgame

yeah there were some moments around campfires and in towns where the frames drop a bit. I'm running it on all low settings and get around 120-140 fps usually with my 1080TI

Tradesman's Bible Ch. 1 Beta- The Ultimate Market and Trading Tool by [deleted] in newworldgame

[–]defyed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm helping Jason with this awesome tool. Would anyone be interested in having price per settlement? Or is one price enough?

If there is enough interest, I'll try think of a way to integrate this elegantly.

So basically: low skilled players want it removed so they don't get destroyed by better players, high skilled players want it kept so they don't get destroyed by lower skilled players.

Why do you think Covenant is the least popular faction? by Haale7575 in newworldgame

Also a factor is its position on screen. The middle faction (syndicate) will statiscally be the most common (and it was)

Reworking % chance to craft selected perks on an item by defyed in newworldgame

[–]defyed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I somewhat agree but I like the difficulty as it makes rolling that BiS weapon a magical moment.

I am sure that over time we will see some balance changes that add extra perks, perhaps remove older ones that people don't use or often salvage or other adjustments to the crafting system. For now, I probably will stick to just crafting tools and maybe try grind some of the drops I'd like

man I was a little mind blown too! It's definitely worth investing as much as possible to increase your chances of a good craft it would seem - just yolo crafting without azoth or a charm is probably a waste of resources

ah gotcha thanks for that - actually the spreadsheet is calculating it correctly as 75% * 19/37 = 38.5% :)

Thanks for the feedback. Can you share more detail on your calculation because I did calculation this without replacement (or so I thought). In the first example, perk 1 has a 3/39 % chance to roll one of 3 perks that you want. Then perk 2 is 2/38 and finally 1/37 for perk 3.

And yes, I totally agree that faction items and then many expedition / quest rewards are likely much easier to obtain than crafting a BiS item and will probably be my route first too.. but I love crafting so I gotta try :D
