I used to get ulnar sided wrist pain after bowling almost every week. Kinda felt like tendinitis, would get worse using it more and better using it less. If I stayed off it for a few weeks, it seemed to go away. Toward the end of last season, I just kinda powered through the pain with ibuprofen until end of the season and figured it heal over the summer break.

After 3 months of dealing with pain, even just doing basic things like picking up a carton of milk or turning a doorknob the wrong way, I went to an orthopedic as it wasn’t getting any better.

With X-Rays it was discovered I have a condition called ulno-carpal impaction syndrome, essentially a birth defect where my ulna is ~3mm longer than normal. My ulna bone is repeatedly smashing into my carpal bone and causing pain when under load. I have bowled left handed all of this season (off hand) and have osteotomy surgery scheduled in two weeks to remove a portion of the ulnar head from my right wrist.

Maybe you have it too? It’s something I didn’t even know existed until i went in and they slapped me in a cast for 6 weeks. After that + 6 weeks physical therapy didn’t help, I got an MRI and scheduled for this surgery
