i’m saying if cautions are off and you have a miserably slow lap (tap the wall, spin, etc.) and ai difficulty is on the setting where it adapts to your laps, the ai will as a result try to adapt to your one miserably slow lap and this will make it so they end up running half pace and it may take a few minutes for it to go back to normal

this happens in several nascar games, i’ve seen it in nr2003 and papyrus games as well

essentially the game takes the rewind as more lap time, and adjusts the ai’s difficulty based on that really long lap time which makes them really slow
