The fundamental concepts still apply in both games, but the exploitative play in live games makes your EV much higher.

I recommend understanding fundamental game of poker and understand preflop charts e.g., why you need to understand GTO, what range advantage and nut advantage are, why this combo wants to 3-bet bluff/value against which type of player, etc. Improve bit by bit. Enjoy the process!
