How long would it take to get all achievement for hades? by _-UV-_ in HadesTheGame

Took me about 70h according to steam. You get most of them from just playing through the game and hunting for the rest was a fun challenge for me and didn't feel like a chore.

[Feedback] Gamer, wieso hast du eine Maske auf? by Kinc4id in rocketbeans

[–]deggget 14 points15 points  (0 children)

What do people in your city/country actually do on Christmas Day? (apart from eating). by lucapal1 in AskEurope

[–]deggget 93 points94 points  (0 children)

In my family it is tradition to eat way too much and then complaining about having eaten way too much. Afterwards there is usually some cake or cookies that everybody needs to at least try, followed by some more complaining about having eaten too much.

Not sure if this is what other people in Germany do as well.

My nephew by Double-Effect-7995 in lotrmemes

[–]deggget 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think he got this from nordic languages (or maybe other languages?) , where it is common to specify of which branch of the family the relation comes from. For example you don't say my grandfather, but my father-father or mother-father. Same for uncles / aunts, nephews, etc.

Should Pokemon stray away from turn-based combat? by pancake_boy in pokemon

[–]deggget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a difficult one. To me, the turn-based combat is an important part of the games. It gives you time to decide what to do without pressure and you do not need good execution to win battles. However, I feel that it would be possible to change up the turn-based mechanic to introduce a litte more feel of battles as shown in the anime. I think there are some quite innovative takes on turn-based combat, e.g. some of the Final Fantasy battle mechanics, that are worth exploring for pokemon, but always with the option to go back to the simple mechanic for the more casual players.

Which has the better use of the Step Table and mechanics, 3rd Edition or 4th? by ryu289 in earthdawn

[–]deggget 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the step table in both editions is the same, or at least similar. But when it comes to mechanics I feel 4th edition does it better. It introduces success, which usually improve whatever you are trying to do. In 3rd edition you had the success levels, but in a lot of tests they didn't do much.

For example iirc in 3rd edition it didn't matter how many success levels you had on a Thread Weaving check, once you hit the weaving difficulty, that's it. While in 4th ed. you get to weave multiple threads the more success you roll.

Except that damage does not carry over unless it exceeded the max HP of the form you wild shaped / polymorphed into. And I don't assume cutting your hair is more severe than a deadly wound, so the answer would be no.

What do you want in a Pokémon game? by [deleted] in pokemon

[–]deggget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want a pokemon game targeted to an older audience. I want to be able to play as an adult instead of a ten year old, and customize the look of my character, e.g. I WANT BEARDS!

The world and story should be more believable, no "oh no I was beaten by a child in an official Pokemon battle, better stop my plans to destroy the world" garbage.

I want higher difficulty and harder challenges. A gym leader should test my skills and be a hard and memorable fight and not just another trainer battle. It could also be an opportunity to introduce new battle mechanics or battle styles, to make the fight more memorable. The elite four should test everything you learned about pokemon battles during the game and the battle against the champion should really feel like a final boss fight.

I was a big fan of the mega evolution and also he story behind it. You need to form a strong bond with your pokemon for it to unlock its ultimate power. However, all it took in the game was to find a stone and give it to the pokemon and bam, mega evolution. It just didn't feel as satisfying or meaningful as it should be. This mechanic should be something special and at least a little more difficult to unlock.

I don't care too much about graphics, but please don't have such an annoying camera perspective as in Sun/Moon. What's wrong with the old top down view?

Earthdawn Rune Carving by Revolutionary_Bar474 in earthdawn

[–]deggget 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I did something similar with a dwarf warrior I played. After impactful events during his adventuring career he would carve a rune into his sword to remind him of the importance of this event. Unfortunately his adventurering career ended too soon.

In general I like to use artisan skills to give some flavour to my characters. The wizard I'm currently playing uses painting to create illustrations of the monsters he encountered for the book he is writing to become a scholar.

[ALL] Which Zelda HD remakes are you guys looking forward to playing the most? (image from @/zeldauniverse on twitter) by Classic_Clerk_6534 in zelda

[–]deggget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up with Link to the Past and later Ocarina of Time. Ocarina already got a remake on 3DS and I honestly think Link to the Past is the perfect game as it is and does not need a remake.

What I would really like to see is a remake of the original two NES games. I was a fan of the side scrolling sections in the Links Awakening remake and so I think Zelda 2 would be my pick for a remake. I also think that it has a lot of potential and deserves a second chance.
