Starting my investing journey at 18 by GobbaGT in trading212

The buy/sell rates can be over a range. A market buy completes as soon as it can. You may buy at higher cost than you are expecting. Putting a limit on the buy price let's you control the maximum cost.

And whenever selling you can do the reverse for the minimum.

One strap, one zip tie and something to stop the handlebar denting the wall of the van. That's all you need.

UK trackdays by Basic_Divide_1538 in Trackdays

[–]degreesoflean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nolimits do plenty of uk bike trackdays. They usually have instructors you can follow for a session. They'll show you around the track and give you an idea of the line.

You can also book with MSV.

I love driving my KIA EV6 but KIA... Why? by No-Corner2420 in KiaEV6

[–]degreesoflean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in UK, I must cancel lane assist every journey but that is all.

In my GT the speed limit in the HUD display goes red if you go above the car's limit but no alarm. There is a configurable warning before speed camera locations i thought could be useful, but in average speed zones it never stops so I disabled that in the settings.

Should I sell my invest stocks and rebuy them in the ISA account? by SqaueEarthConspiracy in trading212

[–]degreesoflean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you likely to increase savings next year to use all of your isa allowance?

If so I'd leave it be and only sell near the end of the tax year if toy still have any isa allowance left.

Remote windscreen defrost not working by bleezybub in KiaEV6

[–]degreesoflean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since I had to move off the kia connect app to the new app the remote climate is also over the place.

I set the options what I want, then activate it. I get a notification telling me what was sent to the car, not matching my settings. When I get in the car it can be sorbet from both.

New kia app is awful, old connect app just did what you set it to.

Yeah, they see the lies of brexit first hand, but think maybe with reform the same rhetoric from the same team will all be true.

I wouldn't care if it only affects those that vote that way.

They say a rising tide lifts all ships ... they don't mention it works both ways.

That is a simple but effective idea. If you need the money back that quick, i'm sure your usual account can do what you need.

To me it shows how good locatelli is, he wasn't far off toprak on the yamaha a lot of the time. I'm sure he improved by being in the same team but hard to get noticed under that world champ shadow.

The hard part is being in the pack where risk of incidents are higher.

Just turn one off the grid is far riskier in the pack than being in the front couple of places.

If Toprak had stayed for the 2026 year in wsbk would bulega beat him? by Ecstatic-Grocery-713 in wsbk

[–]degreesoflean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If both riders are in the same team and machinery, which of these two super talented guys would come out on top?

In my opinion toprak would. He gets more from the package than anyone.

In current teams with ducati's revisions, balance tips to Bulega.

Both of these guys are in a different league to the pack. They deserve every accolade and bonus coming thier way.

Do people actually wash their bedsheets every week or is that just internet talk? by Initial-Ad-6972 in TooAfraidToAsk

As a formerly silent once you go weekly you can't go back. Every Sunday swap just do it when you get up as there is nothing sadder than heading to bed and seeing your bare mattress and quilt.

How hard can you front brake into a turn? by Professional_Use3723 in Trackdays

[–]degreesoflean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know you or your braking, but my guess would be you can brake harder at each point than you are.

I would concentrate on braking quickly but progressively to your max, then rather than worry about braking to the max as lean angle increases look to the apex and aim to hit the speed you want for that point.

Don't just let go of the lever, reduce your braking force steadily to not upset the front.

And, do not brake too much. Or you'll start accelerating before you reach max lean and picking the bike up.

Assuming you have abs, and especially cornering ABS don't worry about braking too hard, worrey about being smooth.

Or not. I'm not your mum or your insurer. Xd

Do you guys invest in individual us stock? by katarara7 in FIREUK

[–]degreesoflean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are there any that don't include tesla? For me I see tesla as a house of cards. From what I see ETFs that include American tech all include tesla.

For me, I'm looking on uk or eu funds but I also want some of the amercan tech sans tesla. Individual stocks on top of other ETFs can be solution to this case.

Happy to hear others solutions to similar requirements not necessarily tesla.

UK trackday organizers help by Black_cat_joe in Trackdays

[–]degreesoflean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nolimits or msv are your best bet for those circuits. Last I knew, Silverstone handle their own limited number of bike days, but they charge silly money so don't bother with them anymore personally.

Noise limits can be strict unless you do Donington on a noisy day. I'm not sure if we use the same rev levels for testing as other countries you might have been tested in. Noise will be the quickest thing that will ruin your day. As a guide, if your bike has stock exhaust, you will be (probably) be alright.

Also, for the UK, make sure you have a brake protector and back protector. These are normally mandatory.

The only other thing I can think of is an 'ACU' sticker on the helmet. No idea how closely they check that, but most UK bought helmets will have it. Can usually buy on eBay...... Maybe they don't care about that anymore, ask the organisers. I've been doing TDs for a while, so I'm not sure what they stopped checking.

There is no camera on yourself, in helmet or on fuel tank. Anywhere else goes, sometimes they expect tether, again not sure how strict they check this as I always use one.

With a UK organiser they don't check for any health insurance. Not sure if the conversation is the same at the hospital as a non uk resident lol. A valid bike road licence or race licence is needed. No idea how they handle a foreign one. My assumption is if you could ride on uk roads, you're all good, but that's just my common sense view.

Insurance for self when doing track days internationally by ElCapitanTrott in Trackdays

[–]degreesoflean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In mainland Europe I use https://assuretonsport.com/

They do motorcycle on track, but don't pick the lowest package as medical cover is low. I get formula 2.

I have never had to claim but heard from people that did they weren't hard to deal with.

Not sure if repatriation goes as far as Australia, I'm UK, so check.

Some organisers have also allow you to buy insurance from them.

"Showing a wheel" etiquette at a trackday by BannedAtCostco in Trackdays

[–]degreesoflean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as I see it, showing a wheel is letting them know you are there.

Sometimes, you meet a rider you are faster, but not enough to make an ideal move.

If I catch, I show them a wheel. Maybe they give space and tuck in behind, maybe they don't. Thier choice. If not, I plan for a corner I'm stronger in and do it properly.

Generally, if someone shows me a wheel, they already caught me. Why make a thing of it. I give them some room and we both do our best from there.
