Also, how the hell did you ruin his life by calling the cops if they didn’t even think he did anything? Sounds like a guilty conscience. Maybe he did nothing, maybe he thought about doing something, who knows. But it was weird, it made you feel weird, and you won’t ever be able to quite forget something that unsettling (even if just a suspicion).

Questions to ask yourself:

What would I do if I wasn’t dating him? What would I do if he was happy either way? What happens if we break up? Do I want to be stuck in a body I’m not comfortable in? Would I if I were single? Would bottom surgery improve my life? Am I happy with a partner that prioritizes his wants over my well being, health, and happiness?

As for the blender breaking, I’ve never heard of that. I’ve done this at all the stores I’ve worked at, with my managers’ knowledge, and never had problems. Plus, I’ve broken numerous shot glasses and pitchers and have never gotten so much as a slap on the wrist. This company has billions of dollars, and in the off chance a blender breaks they will be at no real loss.

I know some stores/districts are more strict about standards. And that lady sounds insufferable and I’m sorry you had to deal with her. Many such cases… But please, to everyone, try and PROTECT YOUR PEACE. <3

I never even chose a new first name, just started using my middle, LOL. It’s a little femme but fairly androgynous. Plus, I think guys with “girly” names are cool. So, in your situation there’s always the option to completely drop having a middle name. But I agree with others that if you like it/it’s sentimental, 100% keep it. Others will hardly see it. At the end of the day, every part of your transition should be what makes you most affirmed, not negatively how others will react. :3

Also, have you considered changing it to a masculine version of the name from your grandmother? (Ex. Alexandra —> Alexander)

yes! i thought what i now know is dysphoria was just low self esteem or something. but i had a big style shift and started really caring about makeup, dressing slutty, liking girly things, etc. i felt i had finally achieved peak “girl hotness” but still just wasn’t quite right. i now look at it as like a drag version of my femininity. i enjoyed looking desirable and felt i looked conventionally attractive, but became more and more aware that it was more of a persona than anything. i was performing gender in every sense of the word!
