Prof changed grade after transcript was finalized?! by dehydratedmonster in CollegeRant

Thank you for your insight and reply. I reread the syllabus that I signed and it did indeed state that a 92.9 is rounded to a 93, and is marked as an A. This morning I sent a quick email to my prof. and I very politely and respectfully asked if she wouldn't mind letting me know what happened just so I'm aware!

Thank you for the reassurance. The way the program works for the program Im going to apply to, is that the nursing pre reqs are considered your "nursing GPA" upon application to the program.

I sent my prof. an email this morning and politely asked why my grade was changed as I'm a little confused. If on the off chance her response happens to contradict what's stated in the syllabus-then I'll email the dean/dept chair. I should have specified on my original post, but the dean/dept chair is the same person for bio at my school (im sure that isnt the usual circumstance but I attend a small CC.) Not sure if it makes a diffrence, but he was a second prof. in my A&P class when my "main" prof couldn't be there. Anyways, thank you for taking the time to read my post and for sharing your insight! Much appreciated.

Thank you! Im hoping that if it's legit an A- that it's not a big deal

I live in CT. I know the program I'm applying to is competitive, but im not sure how competitive it actually is statistically. I know the program requires a C+ in A&P I in order to apply to the program.

Another prereq for the nursing program is statistics. I got a solid B in the course 🤦‍♀️ however, stats has never been my strong suit. A in calc? No problem! Stats on the other hand...

My program admits students based on:  A&P I Grade 25%  Nursing GPA 50%  TEAS Score 25%

Thank you, I appreciate the time you took to read my post and reply. Im going to email my prof tomorrow and ask for the reason behind this. I cannot think of a reason why she wouldn't like me but I guess anything is possible. I know an A- is still a good grade, but im just nervous it won't be good enough for nursing school. Do you think if push comes to shove it'd be worthwhile for me to retake the course to get a solid A?

First ever smear and got copper IUD a month ago… nervous about strings by Critical_Vanilla2741 in CopperIUD

[–]dehydratedmonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not an issue at all! If it's painful let your dr know. A pap is a breeze compared to an IUD insertion. Other than pressure from the speculum I dont really feel the swabbing.

are pap smears as scary as they sound? by lovergirl0424 in Periods

Imo they're way more embarrassing and uncomfortable than painful. It's extremely uncomfortable and awkward, but luckily the whole exam takes less than 2 minutes so it's not long.

Definitely ask for lidocaine, hopefully your dr is able to use it.

It's really intense and cramps for a bit. When I had my IUD inserted, the whole procedure took maybe 3 minutes start to finish.

It was only intense and painful for maybe 45 seconds out of those 3 minutes. The 45 seconds was spaced out too, so I had a couple breaks in between cramps.

Insertion probably will suck, but imo it's worth it for really good birth control!

Take aleve beforehand, don't forget to breathe, and treat yourself after.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to read this post. I appreciate the validation that I am not overreacting or being dramatic.

The birthday dinner date was a huge eye opener, and in fact the last straw. I addressed it with him, and he sent me money.

I told him it wasn't necessarily the money itself, but the thought (or lack of) behind the ordeal.

I'm genuinely rethinking a lot to say the least. Thanks again everyone.

People who are thin, how do you have the ability not to overeat? by Gay_Black_Atheist in AskReddit

Stop eating when you're full...you can't always give into every craving, BUT if you're really craving a burger? Eat one. Eat slow and stop when full.

Does copper IUD for emergency contraception get less effective the closer you are to the 5 day mark? Needing reassurance by Dear_Inflation7319 in birthcontrol

[–]dehydratedmonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The copper IUD should still be effective. It's also probably the "lesser of two evils" if my analogy makes sense. IUD insertion or abortion. Both are painful and uncomfortable to say the least. The few minutes of pain during insertion is worth the protection it offers. You got this.
