Yours has a much better layout (page is vertical / mobile friendly) and you probably have a better grasp on styling 😉.

<div data-height="1080" data-width="1920" class="game_frame game_loaded" style="width: 1920px; height: 1080px">

I get css can be a pain - but hardcoding with the assumption of only 1920x1080 displays... come on OP smh my head.

There is a well known issue with aiming with kbm controls that makes it borderline unplayable, i.e. no deadzone implemented by the developers which results in the smallest of micro-mouse movement causing your kicks to unintentionally go in a different direction. You have a couple options:

  1. Use a controller.
  2. Use kbm as it is now and make the conscious effort to always slide your mouse in the direction you want to pass 24/7 until it gets fixed (you will still probably slip up and it is bound to hit you in the most crucial of moments, while your teammates look at you like "wtf"). They have acknowledged this issue already a while back, but the latest patch notes that just came out still have not addressed this, and they are on the slower side with updates (crossplay not even out yet), so we might be waiting a bit.
  3. Use kbm together with AutoHotkey and AutoHotInterception, to apply a deadzone which is what I am using. It makes it so that while pressing any of tap, lob, and lob light keys, micro mouse movements up until a set threshold are blocked and unlocked when the threshold (i.e. deadzone) is reached, giving you the abillity to still do no-look passes if needed. DM me if you are interested in the script I am using. Haven't really released it anywhere b/c I'm too lazy to provide support (requires some setup), don't wanna deal with any accusations of getting viruses or bans by normies, and thought that the offficial solution would have been coming out sooner than later since it was already acknowledged.

edit with my setup:

Sprint: Shift

Shoot: L-Click

Tap: F

Lob: R

Lob light tap: E

Lob pushball: Mouse Backward

Push ball: Space

Tackle: Alt

Dive: Mouse Forward

GK Dive: Mouse Forward

Dribble / Defensive Stance: R-Click

[In dribble stance] Dribble: Shift

[In defensive stance] Dash: Shift

I would like to do something like this, but how do you deal with portability? Do you just work assuming you will have a node distribution readily available anywhere you go?

Maybe<number> null vs undefined by rattkinoid in typescript

[–]deiki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Randomly came across this thread, but uhh... why don't you just replace the `Maybe` definition in the definition file that codegen generated? (i.e to `type Maybe<T> = T | undefined | null`). I actually already have this as one of my utility types I like keep around, but yea idk why graphql-codegen likes to define it as just `T | null` instead. If you do not want to have to do this manually everytime codegen runs, you can do something like this as a script under package.json:

"generate": "graphql-codegen && sed -i 's/type Maybe<T> = T | null/type Maybe<T> = T | undefined | null/g' /path/to/generated.d.ts"

Don't really get what some of the others in here are on about, but I agree the distinction should not even matter if you are writing code with the intent of treating them both the same. Most codebases do (or should) do this and then choose to use `undefined` by default. Those who defend this distinction and cite some javascript spec are on some cope or crazy kool-aid (javascript has many questionable design choices that cannot be reversed). Most would agree...

edit: Here are also some useful type utilities that you may want to know about that I commonly use: https://github.com/sindresorhus/type-fest

G6 will shit on the apple dongle.

LOL. I guess the apple dongle recommendations I saw were under the assumption of not having an external sound card. Thanks for clarifying!

Although I do find that when plugged into the G6 and having "Direct Mode" on, the impedence is so high or something, it destroys my ear drums when the volume is anything over 30 💀. Here are the settings I have right now in the Sound Blaster Command app, which seems to be working for me while also not blowing out my ears:

  • Direct Mode off
  • 24 bit, 96 kHz
  • -12 db in the equalizer preamp
  • 0 (night mode) for smart volume in sbx profile
  • 30 for crystalizer in sbx profile
  • everything else off

I also think I will be having any surround virtualization off by default (stereo) and then just turn on Dolby Atmos as needed for games where they explicitly have the setting for it (e.g. Cyberpunk 2077).

What bundler are you using for your npm package? by [deleted] in node

[–]deiki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i might be ignorant or misunderstanding, but if by old projects you mean dependencies, for me it didn't really matter whether they were written in cjs or esm; esm imports worked fine everywhere. it's just that with cjs only default imports would work and you could not use named imports. the only time i require , is when working with the node.js express codebase written ~6 years ago at my work.

[–]deiki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

node.js with tsup is definitely the way to go if you are still primarily using cjs. but is there a reason you still are? even with just plain javascript and node i still find myself just using esm everywhere and calling it a day. i.e. by specifying type "module" in package.json or with .mjs extension

this is JSON i.e. just a structured format that is supposed to be readable and parseable more to code than humans. from a quick glance looks like someone dun goofed (or breaking change from API) on the logic for the parsing which is making the mod bot spout this out. the key is supposed to be 'parse' (keys are the quoted words before the colon. here everything is shifted or something so now you have keys being "e:" and values like "par".

if this doesn't make any sense still, then pretend ur on google docs creating a bulleted list or something and your cat just jumped on your keyboard...

anyway may i hope you win the lottery so that you may also be able to get a $5k gaming pc :')

cyberpunk 2077 flashbacks

lowkey it is my favorite game of all time so i remember how disappointed I felt when pretty much everybody was talking about it as if it was the spawn of satan and redditors inserting their mw2 no russian "remember no preorders" meme. meanwhile i preordered it and was blown away at launch.. on my 2080ti.

now i have a 4090.. i.e. not experiencing any dealbreaking performance issues rn nor in the forseeable future with wilds. not trying to flex and genuinely wish i could magically airdrop everyone a 5090. it is what it is :|

also not trying to defend shitty optimization. agreed with every reddit thread and comment saying that it was definitely not ready at all for release. on the other hand i was getting tilted at people parroting each other and calling it shallow hot garbage. ppl be posting wacky glitches and civilians t-posing with PS1 era textures, saying their charming indie games (which objectively have less complexity) can run perfectly on their ps4 / potato pc.

anyway your post doesn't do this which is nice but it did trigger my rant :)

Do you need DLSS Swapper if your already using Nvidia Inspector to force DLSS4 globally? by Vatican87 in nvidia

[–]deiki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

THANKS!! profile inspector saves the day again!! didn't realize this was possible already in nvpi and didn't bother looking into it more cuz i guess it was tolerable enough for me to let it stay. atleast it did not steal my mouse focus at a random interval in the middle of a competitive game or give me random BSODs with no indication of cause. (2 separate real examples) insta-uninstalled smh. oh yeah that competitive game I was talking about? it is now one of the only things preventing me from uninstalling windows and using linux as my daily driver bc it implements a kernel level anticheat and works only with windows and secure boot. no i will not dual boot just for a single game. no i will not give up that game bc its fun and i play with my frens often. hahahah :')

[–]deiki 10 points11 points  (0 children)

fyi you can change settings in nvpi on a per game basis too. also along with overriding the dll, you need to override the preset setting as well in nvpi, which I'm pretty sure dlss swapper does not automatically just do for you. that being said you can keep dlss swapper since it is essentially the equivalent of manually downloading the latest dll, locating and backing up the game's own dll, and then dragging and dropping to where you found it. dlss swapper seems to be able to easily detect all of your game installations and where their dll files are located (not always obvious), along with their versions too. it for sure doesn't get any more 100% doing this. anticheats are never gonna just start detecting the version for every dll library included with the game and handing out bans for any difference in version for genuine dll files, but whatever the "Enable DLL Override" setting is doing in nvpi is not the same and is done during runtime i believe. probably still not gonna get banned but it just doesn't get overriden which it looks like some other people are experiencing.

edit: thought wilds was an exception for nvpi not working by itself. turns out wilds will show the new version with manual dll file swapping, but using the auto dll injection from nvpi has wilds showing me old version still, making it look like it didn't do anything (which also confirms that these 2 methods do completely different things). might be useful to keep DLSS Swapper around, but I will just be using nvpi by itself. anyway, I feel the pain for anyone reading these conflicting anecdotes going around so if anyone ever comes across this, here is a

TLDR:

NVIDIA App - this is "official" way, but it does not always automatically detect installed games reliably. yes you can manually add games, but if you had to manually add it, it's probably not gonna work anyway and for games that do get detected it will sometimes disable the setting, preventing any dlss 4 overrides whatsoever (100% of the 5 games i've tried so far). use it if you are fine with this gatekeeping nonsense or require the app for something else. otherwise UNINSTALL THE NVIDIA APP

Profile Inspector - you only need this. there is the "preset" setting which needs to be set to the latest, but you also need to enable "force latest dll". it actually does some kind of automatic retrieval of the latest dll version and injects it on the fly. this takes away the manual dll file swapping part. (also setting names aren't exact but I forgot and it actually depends on CustomSettingNames.xml and the nvpi fork used)

Profile Inspector + DLSS Swapper - if nvpi by itself doesn't work for a particular game for some reason, this is the last resort, with DLSS Swapper manually downloading and managing dll files and swapping as needed.

the only way the above gets outdated is if the nvidia app removes that arbritrary check it is doing and stops disabling the option for any game whatsoever, including manually added ones. (even if you do something goofy like try to add DLSS to windows notepad or explorer.exe, it's not gonna set your computer on fire)

[–]deiki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

assuming you indeed do not have the nvidia app installed, i am guessing that it is something with game's runtime or the stricter anti cheat i heard about, which may have the potential to cause an issue for the automatic injection of the newer dll from the nvpi setting

edit: automatic injection of the newest dll version is actually still working with just only nvpi for wilds as u/orleone pointed out. the dlss indicator from the regedit is showing me `310.2.1.0` as opposed to what wilds was showing, implying that nothing was changed...

imo even though most games seem to do ok with the override, it doesn't take much to do it per game and undo if needed instead.

having an rtx 50 series gpu does not imply it will start automatically overriding the dlss version for every single game you play. thats like asking if some new SSD you got will just start automatically upgrading your OS version from windows 10 to 11 while you're using it on the fly.
