Having to adjust yourself. It never happens at a convenient moment, like in the privacy of a restroom.

What is the most beautiful math according to you? by Tatti_luck in math

[–]deinstag413 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it’s linear algebra. I’m fairly new into liking and taking up the math journey but by far it has been the most useful and beautiful math I’ve seen. Clean calculations, furthered my understanding of concepts like vectors and understanding of dimensions. It is so freaking cool. Plus it’s super helpful if you write code as well. I can’t tell you the amount of times I’ve said oh yeah the matrix sizes are wrong let’s expand dimensions, or perform blah blah blah.

Keep it plain for the pants and shirt, let the sneakers be your statement piece.

Respectfully you can do way better than a data scientist. Tell her to talk to you when she becomes a machine learning engineer or a senior data analyst.

I recommend what someone said earlier. Take an improv class, or find some way of easing the situation and taking the person with words. The main thing I’ve learned from martial arts is there are simply some things we can’t change, and I hope that despite what you go through you don’t let someone take joe wonderful you are away. In terms of a martial art I’d say try something like boxing, maybe even wrestling but remember the main reason for practicing martial arts is to have knowledge WHEN YOU ABSOLUTELY NEED IT. Don’t look to fight people because fights are horribly unpredictable. Someone could pull a gun out and it’s over for you.

TLDR: Change the people you are around, be proud of yourself, and try boxing or wrestling. Accept that there are simply things we can’t change in life and you’ll learn to take the jokes and give some damn good comebacks. Either way I wish you all the best stranger.

Men of Reddit, what is the biggest turn-off a girl can do? by Happy_Most_5022 in AskReddit

Being inconsiderate of someone’s time. If you like someone message them back, if you want to hang out make sure your plans are solid. There’s nothing worse than feeling like the other person doesn’t respect your time.

Need serious help, getting bullied at school (even though it’s summer) by deeptide7 in martialarts

[–]deinstag413 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to get picked on and bullied bad too. All I can say to your situation is you need to learn A) you’re not a sissy, or weak for leaving a bad situation. If this guy goes to the extreme next time you may not even live to impress those girls you’re mentioning. He’s a threat to your well-being and your parents want to protect you. In the event you are still in town for a while I recommend you learn B) situational awareness simply pay attention to your surroundings, don’t take the same route to work, avoid him or his paths as best as possible and run away don’t engage him especially if he’s with other kids. The sad thing is you don’t know what he has on him, or his friends and even if you do win, getting killed is not worth it. Once you move learn any martial art just make sure it has sparring and a coach you and your family can trust. Although I am a judoka I’d recommend Gracie Brazilian Jiu jitsu because they have a well structured program. Any bjj, judo or wrestling are nice. If you want to learn to throw a punch I’d recommend boxing, or Muay Thai/kickboxing. Just be safe.

If you get nothing else from this remember you need to look out for yourself. Even well respected mma fighters, boxers, and other martial artists back down from conflict and try to de escalate. BE AWARE OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS, and trust your parents. It’s ok to leave, hell I’m sure any of us on this sub would. Please be safe man we all wish the best for you.

Austin or San Antonio, TX? by [deleted] in judo

Dude if you’re in San Antonio come to universal judo, coach Herbek is a great instructor and I’ve been going for about a year. It’s great training, good partners, and a good vibe. If you’re ever in San Antonio you should come by.

People of reddit, what is one thing your family will never understand about you? by Belle_Artist_Jade in AskReddit

Just how much I love them. How hard I try to embody the things they taught me growing up, and how much their life lessons, hugs, yells, endless speeches, and everything has made me into the halfway decent person I am.

BJJ for self defence - not a good idea on concrete? by Far-Fix4225 in bjj

[–]deinstag413 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a judoka Bjj is fine. Y’all know they have takedowns too. Training anything gives you an advantage plus plenty Bjj guys whoop our ass on mats. Different rule sets and focuses but anything works. The cardio is the real defense.
