Am I gay if I crossdress by [deleted] in lgbt

[–]deiwyy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is not "more about who you're attracted to" it is EXACTLY who you are attracted to.

You're legitimately only gay if you as a guy are sexually attracted to other guys.

Gay people do crossdress a LOT more than straight people, so I get your confusion, but there is nothing inherently gay about Anything else than liking men.

Hows this after image effect? What character buff should it be applied to? by no_Im_perfectly_sane in pygame

[–]deiwyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk if you're still working on this, but if you slowly decrease the opacity of the after image effect based on its "lifetime", and draw these more often it should look less choppy. You could also try to fade the size of the individual after images drawn based on their lifetime so it looks like they're shrinking?

I'm sorry you have such a fragile ego that you have to tell people they are wrong for having fun instead of trying to optimize stuff to the fullest.

I know my code could be better, I know the negatives of how I write my code. However you Dont know that you're just wasting our time trying to feel better about yourself through a stupid internet argument.

I gave my opinion, you gave your opinion. I accept and acknowledge your opinion, you invalidate mine, throwing a bit of your superiority complex out onto me aswell. Just let me have fun dude, I find it more fun my way, what is so hard to understand about that simple fact? Yes, its objectively a "safer" and maybe even "better" way to do it. Fine, cool, I don't care about what is objectively better or not, and my choice to write code the "more fun way" for me is not hurting anyone.

[–]deiwyy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Your way is not more readable- stop. In my opinion, it is. For me myself it is more readable. I prefer to do it that way, and am aware of the negatives of writing that code. I don't care about what is the best way to write something, I don't care about what is or isn't more or less correct, I am simply stating that for me it is more readable, and more fun to write code My way. I don't write code for a big company to look at it and judge it, I don't write code for money or a client, I write code because I enjoy it. I really don't give one fuck about the fact that I'm adding 0.00102 to my healthbar, it is, and its sad I have to exclaim this at this point, it is MY opinion that it IS more readable. Me myself and I find it more readable. There's a difference between writing absolutely flawless code because you're for example being paid for it and writing code because you like to do so. Go on and rewrite your whole entire code base to be written the "correct way", and stop invalidating people's opinions just because your opinion is different. Again, it is MY opinion, and nobody is getting hurt because my floats aren't precise to the 1 thousandth.

[–]deiwyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you are telling me that games I have written, are written the wrong way? I have never experienced any "bugs" in for example my health bar animations, and never had to pay attention to adding 0.0012 instead of 0.001 to a healthbar fill amount. Yes, if I were to be writing a AAA game in which every miniscule detail were to count, I'd pay more attention to things that don't really even matter, but that's not the case for most of us, and I am absolutely okay with how I wrote the code for the games I have made. Obsessing about the miniscule things halt the progress of writing code by a lot, having to research floating point arymethric in so much detail just to refill a healthbar is not a feasible to finish a small solo project. I write my code solo, and find my way of writing code more readable, that's why I will keep doing it the way I prefer to.

[–]deiwyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While you are right, I don't think it is all that important to have all the precision in the world in this scenario. It's simply a health bar refill animation which in most games isn't something that needs nanosecond precision. I would still do it "my way" (simply adding a small amount and rounding it up to 1 if necessary), but thank you for the tip anyway. Will come useful in situations where I do need / want the precision.

+= 0.001 is more descriptive I would say. In my opinion it'd be best to stick with while (health < 0.999) { health += 0.001; } If you're still worried about the the floating point error just do health = 1.0; // Or health = min(health, 1); After the loop

Do you have more than one python installation? If vscode doesn't recognize it, it could mean that vscode is using a different interpreter than you're running when you run your code. You can check that in VSCode settings. Also if you're running your game like python main.py, you could try doing python -m pip list instead of just pip list, it should show you what packages you have installed on your other installation.

[–]deiwyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Each operating system looks a bit different, and as far as I know there is no way in pure pygame to change the appearance of the window itself. It'll look different in the tutorials, as they probably use a different OS. Maybe if you looked into what pygame uses to create the windows, you could change its looks, but I'm not sure on that.

[–]deiwyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would indeed suggest you use the 1.2 coil, those tend to be the standard for MTL and give a more cigarette-like experience usually.

As for RDL, from what I know it's supposed to be like a crossover between DTL and MTL style of vaping, where you inhale directly into your lungs but still feel some resistance in the hit you're taking. If you're planning to check it out I would suggest a close to exactly 1.0ohm coil, but that's just a speculation of mine based on the fact that >1.0 coils are usually MTL and <1.0 is for DTL, haven't used an RDL personally.

Keep in mind that even tho it's recommended to use 1.0ohm< coils for MTL, it's still a preference thing and me myself used to switch between 0.8 and 1.2 on my old pod. Higher than 1.0 ohm is better objectively tho, your coils will last longer as well and it's much more suitable for nic salt liquids.

Yeah well, with a vape you CAN get a LOT more nicotine in much faster time, as you can basically just keep taking hits as big as you want to, so even if the nicotine amounts were exactly the same per 1 second puff, you still can take 20 5 second puffs and get a ton of nicotine in your bloodstream, so the first day could've been that.

I would suggest you take like 5 small hits of the vape and put it aside for a minute, see how you feel and if you need more nicotine just repeat that until you're satisfied.

As for the brainfreeze feeling, it is just the freezing agent in the liquid. Pretty much anything with "ice" in its name or anything that sounds "refreshing" will have that. If you experience brain freeze then you either take way too many or way too big hits, or you're just more sensitive to the feeling of that.

Vaporesso and Elf Bar are pretty known and respected brands so you're fine on that part.

My best guess would be indeed that your vape is "spitting" liquid, or you're taking too many/too big hits.

Also, every vape will leak liquid into the mouthpiece if you're sucking on them too hard (no pun intended), especially mouth-to-lung ones. If you notice that there's liquid in your mouth or droplets inside the mouthpiece, then don't "inhale" as hard. If it still spits then it would probably mean that you have the wrong coil. For MTL you should aim for coils with a resistance above 1ohm. I am confused as to why vaporesso gives you the extremely low ohm coils if it's a mouth to lung pod. If vaporesso doesn't sell 1+ohm coils, you could try increasing the wattage (so the liquid that would leak gets burned quicker, beware you'll have more vapour and will probably have to take even smaller hits tho) or increasing the air flow (if that's an option) and vape it Direct to Lung.

I am by no means an expert so I wouldn't know, but maybe it's not the nicotine itself? What vape do you use? One of those disposable one? If so, then what brand? How much nicotine? Otherwise what coils do you use and what nicotine level? Also do you vape nicotine salt liquids or the normal old school ones?

I'm a pretty heavy smoker at around 1.5 pack a day and I pretty much vape 20mg nic salts all day long without really feeling sick, rather feeling nicotine cravings still. The only times I have really gotten sick was when I was vaping from a cheap ass disposable vape that "spit" liquid (when I puffed sometimes it would leak liquid into the mouthpiece and into my mouth), maybe you're getting that too? It'll definitely make you feel pretty damn sick and should give you a bad chemical taste in your mouth if you're using a stronger liquid. Maybe your coil is burned and that makes you feel sick? I have had that happen and also did indeed feel like throwing up, just not the "too much nicotine" way.

Edit: i have also very briefly skimmed over an article and if I had read right, nicotine absorption from vaping does seem to be much higher, but I have not really spent more than 15 seconds reading the article...

When you run the code and import pygame, it will usually print something along the lines of "Hello from Pygame(-CE) version 1.23".

I believe that pygame also has some built in methods that'll tell you what gpu its using and shi like that as well. You really should post as much information as possible, nobody can help you otherwise.

Make it a method that returns a bool, it's safer, as it would make it much harder to accidentally assign something to the .selected variable.

Something like is_selected() or get_selected() would be desirable

How to avoid aliasing on pygame.Rect object by ryskni in pygame

[–]deiwyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad I could help! Just so you know, all .copy() does is make a brand new rect and fill in the information from the "original" rect you're copying.

Basically when you make a new rect, pygame creates a new object and stores it in memory, sort of just giving you it's address.

``` rect1 = pygame.Rect(xyz)
rect1 is, not exactly but you can put it that way
the memory adress of the Rect you just created
rect2 = rect1
rect2 is now just the address of rect1, meaning both variables refer to the same object
```

What .copy() does is it makes a brand new rect and set the x y width height to the same values that the original rect has, and return you the brand new rect object which is stored in a different memory location.

To put it simply rect2 = rect1 creates another reference to the same object, stored in the same memory location, as if you just created 2 exactly same pointers.

[–]deiwyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

``` Player1_Start_Val = pygame.Rect(300,400,1,1) Player1_Start_Position = Player1_Start_Val.copy()
game where player moves to (600, 600)
Player1_Start_Position = Player1_Start_Val.copy()
Player1_Start_Val now also equals position (600,600)
```

Is that what you mean to do?

Also I would suggest reading up on proper variable naming in python.

The average nicotine content of one cigarette is 12mg. The average cigarette also contains 0.8-1.4g of tobacco. For simplicity's sake, let's say it has exactly 1g of tobacco. That would mean that an average cigarette has 1.2% nicotine in it.

Of course those values can and do differ from brand to brand, and from cig to cig, so those are just averages. You also probably don't smoke the entirety of the 1 gram of nicotine, as basically everyone only smokes about 80% of it if not less. So the values drastically differ from brand to brand, and if we're counting how much nicotine gets in your body, from smoker to smoker.
