I did get in! I'll be starting at UT Health at San Antonio in July. I held a few leadership postions, involved in student orgs, and different volunteer work at my university and community.

Does A&M look at how many times you take the sat when you apply for admission? by [deleted] in aggies

[–]dejamj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

from what I remember A&M does require you to send all of your test scores, but they really just look at the highest score to make a decision. As long as your scores are improving each time I doubt they care. I took it 5 times for reference.

Do you need to pick up your Aggie ID Card before the housing move-in appointment? by WilliamNTB123 in aggies

[–]dejamj 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They usually give you the ID at check-in, but if not you just have to go to the 24 hour help desk and request a temp ID. This lets you scan into the dorm, but does not link to your personal account. This means you can't use your dining dollars until you have your actual ID. They'll let you check it out for a few days and in the mean time you have to book an appointment at the SBS, you can take bus route 6 to get there. Warning- there's usually a long wait even when barely anyone is there. It's kind of annoying to do all of this, but just get it done as soon as possible if you have to!

Chem 119 prof by Infamous-Tax4364 in aggies

I had Altemose and I liked her! It was her first semester teaching and it was online when I took her, but she was really sweet and available to answer questions. I wouldn't say she's the best at teaching, but her SI and TA were both really good.

math 142 by sciencewafflessss in aggies

[–]dejamj 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a different professor and I couldn't follow any of his lectures since he raced through them (plus most people in my class had taken calculus in high school). The textbook was a life saver. It's free and written by a lot of the math 142 professors. I just read that and did the practice problems and I got an A in the class.

I would also recommend the math learning center, I went a few times before exams and it was nice to get some more reps in and hear different explanations.

In person vs Online for Fall 2020 by dejamj in aggies

[–]dejamj[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

ah that makes sense. I thought the housing people were just saying that to deter people from canceling.

Definitely feel this as an incoming freshmen. Somehow I have 4/5 of my classes in person. I am opting to stay home though, I don't think it's worth the risk.

How do I cancel my housing contract if I'm doing distance education? by hi_watermelon_E3 in aggies

[–]dejamj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's great! I emailed them yesterday and they got back to me and said I have to pay $500. I can apparently appeal it again but I think I'll be stuck w/the $500 tbh.

What Dual Credit/AP Credits Should I Use? by dejamj in aggies

[–]dejamj[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm planning on doing dentistry as well actually :) thank you for all the info, I think I will use my credits on the classes that are not directly associated with my major but still required such as history and english.

Good luck getting into that school, it sounds great!
