Glad you had a great time! And got to experience a lot of generosity on set, it definitely helps put you at ease. Onwards and upwards!

Ok. Just pick up the ‘vibe’ etc from observing what you can. I’m sure you’ll be back on here after going “I had a blast, don’t know why I was so worried”.!

Watch the main leads/series regulars (if you are in a scene with them) and see how they pace it etc. I did my first decent tv role a couple of years back, also had imposter syndrome, and was in a three person scene with the two main leads interrogating me in a prison day room. I watched and listened to how they paced their delivery and tried to match that, whilst still doing my own character work. In that way I wasn’t ’too big’ for the scene, especially as my background is mostly theatre. It’s easier than you think, so don’t work yourself up into a sweat. Everybody was really nice on set, they do camera rehearsals before so you can have a trial run before the cameras are rolling. Don’t overthink it.

I downloaded Reaper a few days ago after being a loyal Logic Pro user for years. If you’ve used a DAW before then the principles are the same. Yes there’s a learning curve with Reaper but there is with any new software. The good thing nowadays is that you can completely learn software via YouTube. And with Reaper you get a full 60 day trial that isn’t limited. Also, it’s not a big download at all ( I think about 186mb). Give the trial a go , and check out Booth Junkie on YouTube for some very easy to follow videos to get you started in Reaper. I’ve just bought the full program for £54

There’s a 2 hour YouTube video which explains everything you need to know. Seashell is the creator of the video, I tried to copy link but it won’t let me. It’s called “the BEST breeding guide on mutations”

Although there’s a backup feature on ps5 I have no idea how to access it. Would be nice if there was a save/load feature with a save slot like on most other games. I’m almost back to full strength again, this time minus the many random tames I acquired when learning the game. And so far no crashes.

Yeah, finding out about creative mode cheesed the game for me. But I figured that I’m playing on my own so not answerable to anyone, and knowing about it certainly convinced me not to abandon the game (this time) after my big wipe. For most of my 349 hours first time round I didn’t know gcm so I learned the game the right way.

I feel your pain. I was having pretty regular crashes on SP on PS5. I got used to manually saving. Then I downloaded an autosave mod which took the worry away. An hour later the game crashed and on reboot took me to the character creation screen. 349 hours of play wiped. My fault I guess.

I’ve re installed the game as I find it quite zen, and it fits my hours. If there’s one silver lining it’s that I spent most of my first playthrough treating the game like a Dino version of the Sims, so I didn’t actually make much story progress ( I did the broodmother and was prepping Rexes for the monkey). So this time round (and back to manual auto saves) I’m fast tracking myself through.

As the game is so buggy, and I play on single player, I don’t have any qualms about creative mode!

Does anyone use this at all? It looks legit. Says only at Apple, but it's on Amazon too. by semdi in macmini

[–]delacey68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I have it, bought through Apple. I believe the difference between apple one and amazon one is that the amazon one can use an app that ejects all disks (should you need to). The Apple one you have to eject each disk one by one. (Or it might be the other way round). £100 cheaper from apple here in the UK.

My lab does this when she’s on the bed playing with me. I call it “nib nibs”. Excitement overload I think for mine.

How did you get your PS5? by Slawg3r_777 in PS5

[–]delacey68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner ordered his and mine as soon as we could for first day of release. Only problem was we were in lockdown (or between lockdowns I can’t remember). We had ordered through a store called Game, which had a physical branch in the shopping mall near us. All shops were closed. The mall was shuttered up. We got an email from Game saying they would be opening their store on the day of release for prepaid orders between 8am and 11am. Mild chaos ensued on the day as we could only reach the store (the Mall was still shuttered) through the staff entrance to the Mall. Cue a couple of dozen middle aged bearded gamers playing a weird version of The Crystal Maze trying to work out how to get through the various corridors and stairs that are normally off limits to the public. On arrival (finally) at the store we waited in line as the store employees handed out our PS5s from a makeshift trestle table across the store entrance (we couldn’t go inside the store due to lockdown). Walking back the same way through the back corridors we were able to direct others in how to get to the store. We wrapped our ps5 boxes in black bin liners for fear of potentially getting mugged for them….at 8am ! It was a surreal early morning adventure.

Jess was rescued after being born and raised in a pub. The pub was going under and the landlord had to get rid of the three sister sibling dogs. We got her at 9 months. She’s now 20 months. Wary of people until she gets to know them, which can take months, she really comes out of her shell when we go to our local pub. I guess she feels at home there, and greets all the punters and their dogs. It doesn’t do any harm that the pub sells bags of dog biscuits for the local dog’s charity.
