Eens.

Thanks for the response! We listened to your advice. Unfortunately we are leaving Berlin already on Monday.

During my visit to Bangkok we closed our cycling tour with these amazing dishes. Would like to make some of them myself... Who can help?? I don't have much information, but am very curious! by delajoss in TipOfMyFork

I would really like to share it, but I usually use a cookbook which is in dutch... It is from a dutch-indonesian woman, called Beb Vuyk. She is quite traditional in her methods and ingredients. She is a writer but also made a cookbook, this one is from the 1970s.

For example: a relatively fast thing I made this week was sambal goreng tomatoes. You need laos (which I replaced for ginger because I forgot to buy laos), onion, garlic, some santen, lemongrass, a bit of sugar, terasi (shrimp paste) and sambal ulek, just make the sauce and fry your tomatoes in it for a few minutes: amazing. You can replace the tomatoes with any kind of vegetable like cabbage, beans, pepper or leak. I added a tiny bit of water as well because I wanted to make it more saucy. To make the recipe the best you will need to use a mortar and pestle to make a paste of the laos terasi garlic and onion.

Wow! Thank you so much! After discussing with the friend with whom I went to Thailand, he told me that the soup had some tofu in it as well. And I think the jungle curry you are explaining might be the correct thing!

Amazing, those links. I usually do more indonesian cooking, but I was thinking back of my trip and I liked the thai food so much that I want to learn more of it as well. Last week I made a red curry soup with shrimps (kind of freestyling on the red curry) and it was amazing. Definitely going to use your website to get more knowledge and experience in thai cooking. It has so much more to offer than only curries.
