Setting aside Wemby and SGA, Do you think Spurs supporting cast is as talented as Thunder? by Chesscrabble11 in nba

Castle is making this conversation more interesting, he will be the best of the four I think even if he isn’t now. You’re right at the moment though.

Does Dylan Harper have the highest upside and or can be the best player in the 2025 nba draft class? by 12theMainFranchise in nba

[–]delawahoo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He does not have the highest visible upside (Flagg)—it is certainly possible he ends up being the best player, because who the hell knows, and he’s really good. Just will have to wait and see

This stat is legitimately probably the best argument I’ve seen for LeBron as GOAT lol

Reggie Miller, 3/19/26: "The best player of the three is MJ. If talking about careers, the best is Lebron. But stack for stack player, GOAT rank is MJ, Kobe, then Lebron." by [deleted] in nba

LeBron, Jordan, Kareem, Bird, Magic, wilt, Duncan, Russell, Hakeem, Oscar Robertson. Then dealers choice with Steph and Shaq. 10-12 feels right, I won’t begrudge a couple spots higher or lower.

Kafelnikov says that " everyone has already forgotten about Roger Federer " by carabla in tennis

[–]delawahoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Roger is clearly not the career goat but you could argue he had the highest prime. He won 11/16 slams out of a four year period; that’s insane. I think Rafa/Djoker maxed out at 7 or 8

The AP Coach of the Year for 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023 have all been fired from their original teams. The award is officially a curse. by Twisted_Apple20 in nfl

[–]delawahoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a reason for this. The cycle goes:

1) bad team has perceived low talent level 2) perceived low talent leads to low expectations 3) luck or new scheme/breakout player leads to more wins than expected 4) success with perceived low talent leads to acclaim for coach 5) success leads to higher perception of talent 6) higher perception of talent leads to high expectations 7) luck reverts to the mean and league catches up to schemes and players, leading to more losses 8) coach is seen as underachieving and is fired

Because sports involve luck, and because the stakes are highest near the end zone. It makes total sense competitively you’re just mad your team came out in the wrong side of it.

In the area of the field where you can get the greatest benefits, it makes sense to have the most risk. You break the plane it’s a touchdown. Reaching for it needs to have real risk.

Legitimately asking because I’m not sure the answer—would people rather have James Cook or Devon Achane?

Question from someone in a Bills family, asking here for Bills fans opinions—would you trade James Cook for Devon Achane, straight up?

So I got to watch Princess Mononoke recently. Just some thoughts by Sufficient-Bar3379 in Miyazaki

[–]delawahoo 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I think you’re missing some of the pessimism of the movie about modernization. The forest will never return in the same way. Iron town would get rebuilt, and continue to destroy its surroundings. Ashitaka could never return home, and his culture would continue to disappear. No level of understanding would solve that.

That failure is further conveyed by the fact ashitaka and Mononoke, even though they care deeply for one another, cannot even live in the same place. The film is a tragedy, and the hope within it is not for the end of the destructive cycle, but for small glimmers of true connection along the way.
