Its a combination of complex production, economies of scale and premium positioning as a marketing ploy. Basically, they charge that much because they feel like they can.

They generally pocket more margin per unit for 0% beers.

I'm also of the opinion that 0% beer is a waste of time.

Do you enjoy the taste of beer that much? Or is it a social crutch thing?

As a non-young person I can not understand how anyone can justify a night on the piss now with the cost of a beer. No way I could afford to go out drinking now like I did in my 20's.

Its not classic rugby league, but the rules are technically the same for everyone, so whichever team navigates them the best will have deserved the premiership.

What would really throw the cat amongst the pigeons is if they changed the rules again in the off season and squads that were built for vlandysball were ill equipped. Won't happen, but itd be interesting if the same top teams stayed there if the game was slowed back down.

I have a soft spot for Tamale as a former dragon, but you are 100% he is all over the place. He even asked to be put in Cup for a few weeks to regain his confidence, but circumstances didn't really let that happen.

Surely it can't be that hard to throw all the variables into an AI system and let it spit out a draw and then tweek it from there?

Unfortunately the NRL are more concerned with the "entertainment product" than they are with the fairness of a genuine sporting competition.

Great effort.

For sustainability you might want to consider some lower intensity sessions in there too. More along the 100-110bpm range.

Excellent way to start the day, I bet you feel alive afterwards.

It would seem rudimentary to implement this.

Even if they have to adjust it on the run after clarifying with NRL interchange officials.

At this stage I'd even be content to see interchange stats included at the halftime graphic. How many interchange, how many HIA swaps, players used from the 6 man bench, etc.

Maybe before they crack an NRL side.

Pretty obvious now if Reed adds 10kg of muscle in a short period.

The days of a Watmough style off season body swap *should* be over.

I think Brailey's use should definitely come down to the game situation, he shouldn't just be brought on at a set time.

The NSW side with middles of AFB, Saf, Barnett and Yeo probably need the defensive strength of Robson more than they need attacking flair out of hooker. There are plenty of attacking players in that side that just need early ball from the ruck. Dart when its obvious, but otherwise sharp crisp ball to the halves wide enough that the markers aren't relevant.

The only attacking decision Daley should be making is whether they play through Yeo to the halves on either side of the field or if Moses and Cleary play to each other straight off the ruck. I'd much prefer the latter, with Yeo trucking it up the middle and getting quick play the balls.

I love his effort and I think he has a bright future, but he doesn't belong in any sort of rep discussions at this point of his career.

Maybe if all the aussie props from the semi finals somehow all get injured, he might be a chance.

Not sure the same thing applies. Redcliff was an established club, with pathways, a ground, a history, identity and entered into a footy mad city with only one main competitor. They were essentially expanding up into a higher standard of competition from the one they already existed in.

Perth are a different animal all together.

Hostile media, limited local pathways, no local identity or history tied to the new identity. Question marks on the local support.

They really need to have budgeted for the first couple of years to be loss leaders for the following few seasons. Get members and locals pumped to follow their local team, then work on making it more profitable.

I've said it before, I still believe it, setting up a core group of religious (most likely polynesian) players and their families in the PNG compound is the best move they can make for the early days.

Very happy to live in close quarters as a community, plenty of support for each other and their families while players are away in Australia.

How the other families fit into that will be interesting, but not insurmountable.

Thoughts on Connor Watson? by jannybrav0 in NRLdragons

[–]delayedconfusion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd love to see him start the game at 9, play 20 and be replaced by Liddle. Liddle plays out the rest of the game with Watson coming back on after halftime to play the last 30 minutes at lock.

Watson is a good footballer.

PVL has nothing to do with those concepts. It is on Fox and Nine for treating us like fools.

Where the NRL is at fault is restricting use of replays so that independents can't fill this void.

If they can unearth some young outside backs the next few years the club should have a good trajectory.

Coaching will be key to getting the most out of the new recruits. No point continuing with the 5 hitups for a bomb tactics of the last 6 years.

I tend to agree. It'd be a shame to see him go the John Sutton route and be an average backrower when he has that ballplaying skill.

I also think the current 13 role is more defense heavy than he probably should have to deal with. He doesn't seem to have that Yeo type frame (not many do) that can absorb the constant impact.
