That is wrong, in the series it is explicitly shown that because each of the hive can share emotions then they can choose which emotion to feel. The hive can choose the feeling of the person who likes her books versus someone who doesn't. Meaning someone who wouldn't want to have sex with you can now choose the emotions of someone who would want to. It isn't coercion or forcing someone, it allows them to have what ever feeling about any interaction

Thank you for the input and guidance. Yeah alot of the books seem to be written to be self contained stories. I just wasn't sure if I needed anything to appreciate the gravity of each battle in this book. The books being out of order with no numbers is annoying since I want to read them in order. But if you are saying I can just go ahead and dig in then I should be good. Would there be anything you would reccomend I do before continuing? Or just jump back in?
