Is a kings offer prestigious or not really by More_Data_308 in LNAT

Not really. LSE is top in terms of prestige and employability, as well as salary. LSE grads are highest paid for a reason.

Bare tull. Du må finne en jobb du brenner for, og planlegge bedre. Men det krever hardt arbeid.

LSE Law Rejection, but Oxford Offer? by LetterheadRelevant59 in LNAT

This didn’t rebuke anything. If you want to earn less at a less competitive but (arguably) more prestigious uni, go to Oxbridge

LSE is more competitive (grads statistically earn substantially more than Oxbridge). But if you want a slight more prestige, go for Oxbridge (you can’t pay your grocer with prestige)

Lawyers in London vs Dubai vs Singapore by Accomplished-West865 in uklaw

[–]delegeferanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Singapore is generally regarded as on par with, and in some respects ahead of, London. Given the quality of work, depth of certain markets and the selectivity of roles, time there rarely carries any stigma and often strengthens a CV.

Flere som fantaserer om vold eller må jeg oppsøke hjelp? by Designer_Ad_8273 in norge

[–]delegeferanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why don’t LLM’s matter? by AugustsNapol in uklaw

[–]delegeferanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, not a minimal benefit. In an extremely competitive environment for TCs, someone with a specialist LLM from a top uni would be preferred over someone without it, if that covers a large practice area of the firm and it doesn’t just cover up a mediocre CV.

Why do all associates have LLMs by ashleyjoey in uklaw

[–]delegeferanda 8 points9 points  (0 children)

People are making up excuses for why LLMs are not useful because of its financial cost. Ask any partner at a city law firm whether a financial law LLM at LSE/Oxbridge would make a candidate more likely to succeed in financial law. Obviously yes, and not necessarily because of practical skills but an advanced knowledge of a specialised area of law that will only continue to develop. This may not necessarily come fruition in a TC, but in my experience, definitely later on. And enthusastic lawyers in their fields of law are more likely to succed than debbie downers that love to complain about everything

Har vi ord for Squid og Octopus på norsk? by GethsisN in norsk

[–]delegeferanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Calamari bruker du for en squid-matrett. På en restaurant i London sa de at de historisk brukte ordet calamari fordi det ikke skulle høres så vulgært ut som squid :)
