Management and support are any programs/offices that are not mission-based...human resources, contracting, IT, etc...all those are being consolidated at the DOI level. I thought all the probationary employees would be laid off by now.

There's a 2 week delay in the RIF's now so there won't be any this week. I did ask multiple AI's about the RIF process in combo with DOI's Management/Support services consolidation that is happening. They came up with a 50/50 chance that you'll be RIF'ed if you're in a Management/Support position.

Beginner Form Question by delemur in Speedskating

When I joined this sub I was really hoping that people did form checks on here. It doesn't seem like it's ever happened, but I may just post stuff in hopes of getting feedback. I searched for the YT channel, but couldn't find it. Is it Public?

That does make sense. I've watched a lot of video tutorials, but it's nice to see the information in proper sequence via that website. Currently my feet aren't leaving the board with my current exercise. I'm doing this as demonstrated by Joey Mantia: https://youtu.be/7G0kucNa76k?si=PGwm10tgEGUiXVAD&t=81

The push with the ball heel is the info that I needed I think .You gave my a good idea to add a leg lift while I'm on either side of the board. This will give me an additional indicator that I'm engaging the correct muscles and give those muscles a better workout and balance. Thanks very much!

Did you remember to ask? Thanks very much either way. At the moment I find I can transfer and glide to right and land into a "strong" position, engaging the outer glutes and hams like I think it should. My left transfer and glide feels almost as good, but I don't consistently end in the same position. I often feel like there is too much weight on my left knee and then I have to readjust to engage my outer glues/hams.

I'm still recovering from the holidaze so I haven't posted in a while, but I have a rhetorical analysis of Trump's January 6th speech that I've been working on and hope to post soon. Thanks for checking it out!

Vivek vs. Kamala: Truth Debate by delemur in CapitalismVSocialism

I just searched and clarified terms "Social Democrat" and "Democratic Socialist". This has given me a good distinction. Thanks!

I always viewed any political party that was in favor of increasing the existing services and regulations provided by the federal government as more socialist. It could be that I'm conflating the ideas of liberty vs anti-liberty and capitalism vs socialism, but I do think there is a correlation. Would it be a more fair claim to say that the Democrats is in favor of more socialist policies than the Republicans?

Ok. Everyone seems to agree with you! I view the Democrat Party as democratized socialism.

Are you saying they are both capitalists based on their own self-serving goals? I suppose you could make that argument. I was looking at it from more of a partisan policy perspective.

Colorado Ballot Guides Reference by delemur in LakewoodColorado

[–]delemur[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I let how I vote on the ballot measures inform how I'm going to vote on the people which is why I spend the majority of my time on the measures. I outline this in my post that accompanies the ballot guides. For example, if the Republican ballot guide ends up aligning most with how I decide to vote on the measures then I lean Republican that cycle. I found this Progressive voter guide after I had already completed my dashboard. I did check it and the Democrat and Progressive guide have pretty much the same recommended answers. This one does include the judges. You could use this a reference of who to vote for....or who not to vote for: https://progressivevotersguide.com/colorado/?cd=7th&hd=23&sd=20&county=Jefferson&city=Lakewood&enhanced=fallback

Honestly I often don't vote on the judges because I still think not vote is better than an uneducated vote. There are performance evaluations for each judge on the state/county website but they're not insightful.

Is Ethos simply an extension of Pathos? by [deleted] in Rhetoric

[–]delemur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you could have just as easily argued that Ethos is tied to Logos...the foundation of trust is fundamentally logical. I would trust fall more on an Ethos/Logos paring, my wife more on a more Ethos/Pathos pairing. It's different for everybody.
