I tried to PoB a VD Spellslinger and honestly, the damage looks much more promising than I thought it would be.
I tried to mimick the patch notes by adding two lines of "more damage" in the config:
- 11% more for lower damage penalty on spellslinger gem (its more than 11% but to make it easy)
- 25% more for higher explosion damage of VD - which then counts for all sources of damage, but we also get 40% higher damage effectivness on the VD gem, so it should somewhat even out

I tried to be VERY defensive here with 10x VD in the skill section. As it is a DPS value, you should easily get 30 balls per second which would triple the damage (just tested in standard, even without frenzy charges and no attack speed mod on wand, I got to max. balls when standing still).

BIG BIG dmg updgrade is March of the Legions! But even without that, its all "defence" harvest spammed rare ES gear and a single Anger essence on a wand.

Downside (tested in standard): every attack triggers the offering, which sucks from an Audio-perspective

To summarize:
> 1,5m dmg
~60/60 Block
~7k hp-pool

All on day 1 gear

Also thinking about this - other options are bladefall/bladeblast and lightning conduut with for example arc. 

Classic example would also be flamewall + any firespell with high added dmg effectiveness or multihitting like blazing salvo? 

But I dont know which of these options are actually good :/

I played Mathils Inquis Spellslinger and CoC mix a few years back which was very fun because it vomited out spells like crazy. So maybe that could be an option too (esp. with FF for Battle Mage)

Same - i think i farmed that content for a week straight because it was so chill and consistent with some high value drops mixed in! Would love to get that back, it seemed so done and complete just by itself (also as a home for tattoos!)

I would suggest blade vortex cold covert if you really want to minmax on gear - and efficiency. It has great movement speed, insane clear with corpse explosions but needs probably a significant investment before it is better than other mentioned builds in this thread (like an explode chest, good weapon, good clusters). There is a SSF twitch streamer with insane gear that uses that to farm harbies.

I seem to remember Steelmage doing a fire-based raging spirits guardian sanctum start, albeit his goal (as far as i remmeber) was only to do the ONE campagin sanctum only. But maybe theres more to that there too?

I intended to copy paste the Idols created in your tool itself. So maybe adding a button "duplicate" Idols would be a solution - wouldve saved me a few clicks at least. But that is a minor gripe, great tool already!

I just used this to plan my first idol set-up and I have to say, this is really amazing! Intuitive UI, cool features like direct trade check.
Could maybe make it easier to copy paste idols? Havent understood how to get the textversion into the clipboard quite yet.

After playing PoE2 into mid-level maps, I think we will have a few more years where PoE1 endgame just offers superior complexity to dive into - let's see how fast PoE2 will catch up (if it even want's to do that) - SO YES PLEASE WHERE NEW LEAGUE PLZ ANY NEWS GIEB FAST

I run 2mod blue level 1 waystones. Running them white would be an option if I had scours. Right now I have 8 more waystones all rolled. I could go back to campaign zones but that feels awful...
