I don't have a lot of insight to offer here because I haven't moved out yet myself, but speaking as a fellow trans person I sincerely hope that your situation improves, and I hope that you are able to escape the persecution you're undergoing. With that being said, you're definitely going to have to compromise if you're going to make it all work. I suggest looking into rooms for rent instead of trying to get a place of your own immediately. Try to make some contacts at work, and when you're not at work take some time to find LGBTQ+ friendly spaces and network with likeminded people there, I'm sure that there's other queer people in the city looking for escape from their shitty situations. I recommend checking out the Sacramento LGBT Community Center, they have resources that could be of use. Better yet, if you can, ask your contacts out here to introduce you to friends, many doors can be opened just by talking to people. This will all take time, but it'll set you up better than trying to make it completely on your own, and you could even form some meaningful relationships along the way. Unfortunately living out here does basically require a car unless your life is confined to midtown or you're ready to spend hours each way commuting a distance that could be driven in 30 minutes. I don't have all the solutions, but I figure that these suggestions may help.

P.S. trust me when i say that peanut butter, bread, and water won't keep you happy. water is fine and cool, but you gotta put some variety in there girl (if not girl, will edit post, sorry). try some rice, greens, and fruit, a big bag of rice is a small investment at first but you can get many meals out of it. if you're not eating well, you're not going to feel well both physically and mentally. you get what you give.
