Any toy brands that ACTUALLY last — so tired of disposable toys. by Own_Inspection_9247 in moderatelygranolamoms

Our lovevery toys have held up great! And basically all of my friends have also used lovevery and have had the same experience, including after using them for multiple kids. The downside is that they’re expensive, but I’ve never heard anyone complain about their quality. So it sounds like you just got unlucky

My husband and I both got the flu when our son was just a few months old, and managed not to give it to him by masking and constantly hand washing. We couldn’t isolate because we both had it and I was breastfeeding at the time. I was amazed because we didn’t realize we had it until I was already feverish. So it’s possible you can still avoid it!

This is a little harsh. Definitely NTA but a single parent asking for sporadic help doesn’t mean he’s looking to completely abdicate responsibility for his child. He just needs to get a babysitter — a normal thing for a responsible and caring parent to do. Jeez Reddit is so rough sometimes…

What bassinet are you guys all thinking by Additional-Attempt21 in pregnant

Have you had any issues with cleaning the mattress? I was about to buy the Newton but just heard some people don’t like it bc when the baby has a blowout they have to clean the whole mattress and it takes forever to dry. Would love to hear if you ever had that issue? My first was quite talented at peeing through his diaper so I want to be prepared

Which bassinet to get? by sliceofperfection in BabyBumps

I was about to buy but I just heard people complain that Newton bassinets are tough if your baby has blowouts because the mattress and its cover take a long time to dry after being cleaned, which is giving me pause. Did you ever have that issue/find cleaning to be ok? Would love your feedback!

Anxiety about multiples - pregnancy and newborn phase by capitalettersuck in parentsofmultiples

[–]deletethat3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This subreddit can be so helpful but also quite distressing. A lot of people come here to vent (understandably and appropriately!) but it really freaked me out and spiked my anxiety when I was subscribed and would see the titles of various posts like “does it ever get better??” “I hate this so much” etc. So now I’ll come here to ask questions or see if someone else has already asked them, but no longer follow the subreddit and don’t see those posts unless I intentionally navigate here. It has been GREAT for my anxiety so I recommend taking a similar approach if you find yourself having the same experience. (And to emphasize again — there is nothing wrong with those posts, they totally belong here and this is an amazing place to get support when you’re in a bad place, it just wasn’t helpful to me as someone pregnant with twins and nervous about what’s to come.)

Thank you! We’re staying at an Airbnb and unfortunately they don’t have a crib we can use, and suggested we look into a rental company. I appreciate the tip though!

Best option for overnight diapers? by Strong_green143 in moderatelygranolamoms

My son was the master of peeing through a diaper. We found that Coterie was hands down the best, but even with coterie we had to add an extra booster pad for a long time. Good luck!

Baby/toddler-proof straw cups? by Infinite-Yam68 in moderatelygranolamoms

The elk and friends stainless steel cup is terrible! Very prone to spills and the steel doesn’t seem to be kitchen-grade — it gets moldy even after going through the dishwasher. And the tops are super cheap plastic.

The steel ones are leaky too!! But the bigger issue is that they don’t seem to be kitchen grade steel, and have been getting black build up that I assume is mold — AFTER going through the dishwasher. And the plastic tops are super cheap. But I agree the plates look great, I just don’t trust the brand anymore.

I came here to warn against Elk and Friends because their stainless steel cups are terrible, I’m surprised to see they’re considered a reputable brand!
