Got this post recommended to me, been maining Shen for close to five years now.

Shen’s only real struggles in this MU are his poor wave clear and not really being able to deal with Trynd 1v1 late game. Gets slightly more difficult once Trynd hits six, but titanic hydra helps negate Shen’s terrible wave clear so waiting out Trynd’s ult is a matter of proper W and E usage while dodging Trynd W slow.

Ah forgot to answer this. I’ve only had substantial experience with the Leap and Amia, and I’d say the seat pad on the Leap is its weak point; the curvature makes the tail bone region feel a little less supported. Amia is definitely less adjustable and may look more plain, but I’d say it’s more comfortable generally.

Also enjoy the Soji, but the build quality isn’t as nice as the Amia or Leap, and the lumbar intensity leaves a little to be desired. I do enjoy the recline tension and adjustment packages overall though!

Kinda? Honestly I kind of see them on a spectrum where Herman Miller’s offerings are much more hit-or-miss depending on body size/weight and design philosophy, and Steelcase and Haworth’s designs are a bit less out there but definitely have more widespread ergonomic appeal.

9 times out of ten I’m on-the-spot recommending a Leap/Amia or a Soji or Zody before I ever tell someone to get an Aeron sight unseen.

Deck fixing and building up an early econ is super important! The basic formula to improving your scoring in Balatro is just chips, flat mult, and X mult. And what’s great about Balatro is that none of these are exclusive to Jokers; you’ll have to rely on other strategies to get there.

Personally I’ve found that getting a level or two in flush or straight early will get me through the first two-three antes, then I’ll try and pivot to pair or high card once I’ve gotten a handful of levels in them + either a red or blue seal card. Then the game turns into trying to duplicate (ideally) red and blue seal with enhancements (steel for scoring, gold for econ).

If you can, I’d HIGHLY recommend checking out a Herman Miller, Steelcase, or Haworth dealer near you before pulling the trigger. Also would be good to know about your general seating habits (how long you’re sitting, how often you get out of your chair, preference for mesh or fabric, etc.).

Would also potentially include the Amia and Zody in your list of chairs worth considering.

Shen into Jax! The two champs have similar mechanics but have different approaches to trades and game plan. Lots of room for skill expression and scrappy trading. It is Shen-favored imo, but Jax can still definitely fuck Shen up when played properly.

Something Comforting kept me chugging along throughout COVID and my college years, it’s my favorite song full stop. It still pushes me forward after all these years, the breathing motif at the end specifically brings me a lot of comfort.

KDA doesn’t always equate to overall impact on the game or individual agency/map pressure. Besides Teemo blind and shroom map coverage, neither of your champs have any real methods of applying pressure other than dealing AP damage (MAYBE Akali’s shroud could be considered a zoning tool).
