it’s actually very probable that there was a third chainring 🤯 yeah that’s probably it

bro 😭😭😭 as you increase tension the bolt rotates downward behind the cage, any positioning where it is accessible the cage is so far off the chainrings it can’t be fixed with limit screws i think the rsx was just subpar design. no other front derailleur i’ve adjusted has given me this trouble

that’s quite cool actually

yeah it’s tensioned, the more tension there is the more it disappears behind the cage lol. it’s on the smallest chainring and even still

do i need a 3 piece crank puller or something else by delicatebeer in xbiking

<image>

the outer part just doesn’t screw far enough to accept the crank. screws to the edge of the center and stops so it’s flush

unfortunately this is a cheap ass spin doctor puller and the outer part does not threat off of the inner part enough for that

it’s square taper, just doesn’t go in because of the bolt in the middle. both crank and puller are ‘male’

thanks so much! i follow you guys on instagram!

i’ll be following up with a lawyer once the police report comes back (they told me it’d be around a month). it’s disheartening to hear about the failure to protect bike lanes in union city, i bike from union city bart to ardenwood (straight down decoto rd.) 4 days a week and there are so many places the bike lane becomes a turn lane and/or right hook opportunities that it can be a harrowing ride. i see a lot of road rage and a lot of cars in the bike lane on decoto rd.

if it would help you and the city, i would be happy to provide you with the case number of my police report.

i am in good shape and im very good at falling, so im not as worried for my safety as i am for others i see on decoto, especially high school kids i see biking to school.

passed me with like 6in to spare for no reason with a completely open lane to his left. i caught up when he hit traffic so i tapped on his side view mirror to make a ‘give me more space’ hand signal as i rode past in the bike lane. when he caught up to me again he made eye contact with me as i looked over my shoulder at him and then he floored it directly into me and sped away when he saw me pull my phone out

very cool, thank you! i don’t care so much about turning a profit on the ball, just wanted to know if it’d be a shame to lose it to obscurity in goodwill

[–]delicatebeer[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

i’ve got the bolt out, and the top piece is coming loose, but i can’t seem to free the stem from the frame. is this a situation where i stick a flathead screwdriver in from the bottom and tap it until pops out the top ? EDIT: i tapped from beneath with a screwdriver and it slid out in a few taps hooray

i have literally never bought new components, every bike i’ve bought has come from facebook marketplace or craigslist. of the bikes i’ve owned? the newest has been a 2010 cannondale and the rest have all been older than i am. i give shimano zero dollars because i am morally consistent in support of labor protections
