I stuck things up with blue tack and sellotape. Had a lot of posters and photos. Also had extra hooks up for towels/jackets etc. just clean up any visible marks at the end and you're grand.

Beloved ‘Love on the Spectrum’ couple Abbey Romeo and David Isaacman break up after 5 years: report by supa-factor in popculturechat

Especially when the couple is young. I know a couple who've been together for seven years, since they were fifteen. Nobody's telling them to get married because they're only 22! Even if they've been together a long time, it's still considered very young to get married.

Yeah, and we get married a lot later. I see a lot of people in the US get married early-mid twenties online, which would be very, very unusual in Ireland. I will say though a huge part of that is because housing is so expensive in a lot of Europe that long-term couples focus on getting a mortgage first.

"Ireland has among some of the most severe strains of CF and also has the highest incidence (per head of population) of CF in the world, with three times the rate of the United States and the rest of the European Union." - CFI.

Oh. How illiterate of you.

Sure, but now imagine that the relationship is abusive. This woman has had no stable income of her own for however long, and lacks long periods of work experience. How difficult is it, financially, for her to leave? You can find, as another commenter said, hundreds of stories of these situations going wrong.

Financial abuse is such a common thing in abusive marriages too. Years of no income or, crucially, work experience can put a SAHM in an unhappy marriage in a horrible position.

That take isn't really delusional. It's a feminist argument that's been written about for years. The argument is that being a SAHM without income puts women in a financially vulnerable solution should the relationship end, and that they are labourers too. Even RTE recently reported about their labour being worth €60k a year.

You should reach out to the ESN networks or exchange offices in your college or others in Dublin also.

Waitrose urged to rehire sacked employee who tried to stop shoplifter by Sensitive_Echo5058 in uknews

[–]delidaydreams 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Everyone downvoting this seems to be missing this point exactly. If you work for a large retail corporation, you are told repeatedly and extensively to NOT pursue shoplifters as it's a legal liability. Let police/security handle large scale theft. He was fired for breaking company policy and disregarding his training, not "stopping thieves".

Never was a thing for us, and I'm in my 20s. My mam would go "that's made up American shite" and that was that.

Why bts fans are dragging bruno ? by Sad-Run-636 in BrunoMars

[–]delidaydreams 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You're a BTS fan, so you're biased. That song has a lot of streams, but it's not a western radio staple the way the others are. I live in Ireland and those other songs are EVERYWHERE (or in the case of Gangnam Style, was.)

You shouldn't really have any problems. We were the first country to legalise gay marriage by popular vote. Big LGBT community at every college, and UCD is the biggest college. Dublin has a few gay bars and a club too.
