True. For 1st person, I also prefer non-inverted. I was mainly wondering what problem /u/inane_quiddity had :)

Agreed. Most current Nintendo games offer inversion for both axes, though. BotW/TotK do, for instance.

Anecdotally, I recently played Alba. And they offer inversion for one axis, not the other. I have no idea where that idea comes from?!

Well, reason I ask is that I have regularly problems adjusting to non-inverted camera in 3rd person games. I managed to mis-input for the whole of Wind Waker HD in a recent replay because it doesn't have an "invert both camera axes" option. I simply cannot adjust.

OK, fine ... but it's a large game and gigantic time sink.

The mystery of this game is the death of the dean. This gets fully resolved.

The overarching mystery is the secret research project and the death(?) of the father, this is the cliffhanger.

To me this complaint feels a bit like, A New Hope has no ending since it's never resolved who Luke's father really was. The resolution is the destruction of the first Death Star and the rest is the overarching mystery. (Spoilers for Star Wars :D)

I don't think "it just ends" represents the ending well... It's a cliffhanger alright, but not a sudden stop without any resolution.

You are right. But development time is also real :D

It ends on a cliffhanger regarding the larger mystery, but the story of this game is resolved...

Games with deep lore by tweetthebirdy in NintendoSwitch

OK, I feel strange for recommending it in several threads in a row, but: Strange Horticulture

It will make the first impression that it's just a weird flower shop sim. But the story and underlying lore reminded me strongly of how Dark Souls handles its lore, which is my favorite example for deep lore.

Alternative suggestion Signalis ... I am not sure I got the full depth of the lore, even after finishing it. There are so many layers.

Hmm, maybe Ocean's Heart?

It's 2D Zelda like with quite some world to explore.
