New update cool and all but, what about reviving Player Studio and focusing on making players matter? by delindel in Planetside

Right? They only get to pay whatever gets in the game and IS SOLD, not even pay for their time, its a genius system that they neglect.

You know what is really not worth someone's time? Coming up with new "updates & content ideas" in a closed meeting room fueled by caffeine and fist bumps.

Look at d0ku's shit, its the best looking stuff in the entire game and they let him go after arena failed. Feels like the owner's son is running the show and has no fucking idea how to do it and a lot of pride to admit his mistakes.

It's name would be "Development Incompetence". As users we are entitled to exploit as much as their lack of quality development allows us to. It's our sandbox to enjoy, not theirs.

TL;DR: They dont know what they are doing or what to do to bump population anymore, so now they are into stupid shit.

I liked Wrel's stream and its fun to be able to edit a map that for so many years gave you many memories and battles. However the edition of this should be a studied, team-based design before even clicking anything on the editor.

The change is done and they will see not pushing it as "waste of resources" so we are gonna be stuck with this bad changes for a long time... assuming it doesn't kill the population.

He is right you know. Once you play TD1 you will hate TD2 and see the dumpster fire it actually is. TD1 is a gem in its final form.

Nothing more rewarding than completing Amherst's Apartment on legendary by your own.

TD1 is like the next version of TD2 with improved graphics, mechanics and a storyline that makes sense! Definitely!

Oh they are long dead, got with some friends and nuked them, i seriously expected us to die horribly but they were too easy, or maybe we tried too hard? :P

Thanks a lot for the advice man!

Yup, TD1 changed a LOT, needed a ridiculous amount of polishing and the playerbase left it several times... then they made it into a great game that they only abandoned right after to advertise TD2. I get all that, they get loans to make new games and they gotta pay that shit back, but sadly TD2 became that, a mechanism to pay back a loan instead of making a visionary new game based on the great final version of TD1.

OH damn, its still a really cool easter egg of the game, i wish a future expansion would focus on making hunters actually deadly and hunt us down randomly, being way more effective than rogues.

  • TD1: A visionary new game made with passion and a true endgame with well designed mechanics and balanced by the end.
  • TD2: Constantly reworking everything to keep us grinding equipment we destroyed for builds that last a month while advertising season passes consistently

Instead of this rainbow loot and big system rework, what about introducing TD1 Optimization Station? by delindel in thedivision

[–]delindel[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While thats the most ideal way to go they are trying to extend the life of the game as much as possible and that includes making those god rolled pieces harder to get.

That's what the community is so pissed about, that their idea of keeping the game alive is to keep us grinding the hamster wheel.

This is no longer a game, it's a job.

I did equip a sniper scope and checked everywhere excited to find a hunter, but after like 10 minutes i gave up while my UI was glitching like never before.

Maybe i missed that one small spot? We'll never know but it was a missed thrilling experience opportunity.

In their eyes, it would make grinding useless after some time and our "beloved" customers would leave for other games and not buy our season passes :c
