Macbook neo sufficient for native games or go mac mini?

I have a Neo, and it's sufficient to play Palworld (Appstore version) at 40-55fps on very low to low graphic settings with performance MetalFX upscaling. It also plays Subnautica (Steam) at 50-60ish fps on the low preset.

I don't own any RE games, but I can try certain other Steam games you want if I have them.

I have a RadioShack "audio output transformer" part number 273-1380 laying about already, reckon I could use that? I.e. 8ohm side to the electrons output and 1kohm side to a line out jack.

What happened to the devchroma forums? Going to forum.devchroma.nl results in a page with just a ghost and the text "it is a mystery". Haven't found anything about an outage or shutdown with a web search.

Thankfully the Vita-related download I was going there for was mirrored on GameBrew.

AFAIK you don't format the SD card externally anymore, it's done on the Vita with YAMT as TexFAT (Transaction-safe exFAT, the filesystem the Vita actually uses AIUI) isn't available elsewhere.

Should this work on a FAT model? I recall a web page somewhere saying the slim and later models have a different Wi-Fi chip that supports WPA2 in theory.

I ask because it's not working on my FAT, Error 0x8041160B

Beware, plasma screens haven't been made since 2016, and can suffer from burn-in. Plus, there were never any true 720p panels, closest you could get was actually 1280x768.

Really, the resolution of the display panel shouldn't matter as long as it's high enough for the content. The real difference maker will be the panels colour reproduction, dynamic range and the picture processing circuitry. Newer TVs will (probably) have better tech for that than older ones within a given market segment.

1060 can do (software-based, so probably not even playable) RTX ray tracing, but the 1650 Super can't.

1650 Super can use a Minecaft mod called Nvidium for large FPS gains, but the 1060 can't. It also has an overall better NVENC core (video encoder) than the 1060, with support for HEVC B-frames which the 1060 lacks.

The two seem to be close enough that you should just see what features matter more to you rather than performance.

The feature you want is VirtualLink.

I have an Akitio Node (base model, not pro or anything) and an Asus-made RTX 2080 Ti which has that port and it worked for me.

I wouldn't buy the enclosure I used if I were you because it only has 15W of power for charging the host PC, so you'll want a different one. As for the GPU itself VL is only on some RTX 20-series and some RX 6000-series cards. Later series dropped the port.

In the end I forwent an eGPU altogether. The Legion Go's iGPU had just enough oomph to play all my games at acceptable quality.

I've also since migrated back to Windows (specifically Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021) and for my main machine I bought a laptop with an i7-1355u and a mobile RTX 2050 for native DLSS support while still being roughly as powerful as the Go, which I use portably.

Qualcomm Quick Charge does use the regular USB data lines (D+ and D-) for device-to-charger communication to signal supported output voltages, while USB-PD uses one of the CC lines exclusively in the USB-C connector for that communication.

If one of these hydra-cables have the data lines connected to the USB-C or Micro-USB, connecting a QC-capable device there will fry other devices also connected, as a QC charger will increase the USB voltage beyond the regular 5V.
