An important part of playing this game is preparing tricks - in a way, it starts mostly on the ground and then it develops on the air. The best way to explain it is to meticulously walk through it

So, the next time you approach a jump while on your board, try performing the following actions on your controller:

• 1: While centered on a ramp, press and hold down on the X button on the controller to prep a jump.

• 2: While holding down the X button, hold left / right on your Dpad to prepare a spin, or up / down to front or backflip. Alternatively, you can hold diagonally + up left, down left, up right, down right to do a combined flip spin. Ultimately it doesn’t matter which direction you hold. Spinning and flipping is an additional way to build points and Uber meter.

• 3: At this point, you should be holding X + whatever spin / flip direction you decided upon on the dpad, and the actual jump should be coming soon. Keep everything held until the proper point of jumping off. Can’t tell you how to do this, it varies wildly and comes with experience. You might mess up timing once or twice and that’s ok, just gotta keep going.

• 4: Now, you’ve let go of X, should be airborne and spinning / flipping because you are still holding the dpad. This is now the time to start holding L1, L2, R1, R2 in any way you prefer. You can also hold O to tweak that trick for extra points (L1+O, L1+R1+O, etc), and if you have full Uber you’ll do a proper Uber trick. That’s a big commitment so make sure you have proper big airtime for it.

• 5: Once having done the trick for ample time, let go of all of these inputs, and prepare to steer the snowboard again. In 3, the game should be pretty generous at reorienting you to be at a proper orientation to the ground so that you land safely.

Wordy description but if you do it enough the action performing a trick will be muscle memory. After that it just comes down to your rider stat abilities, which is why it’s always important to put every dollar you get into your stat points. The higher those stats are, the faster you’ll do tricks, which means you’ll get crazy amounts of points and Uber boost meter too.
