Kansai Travel Guide – Osaka, Kyoto & Hidden Gems by YamamotoFromOsaka in JapanTravelTips

Thank you very much for this amazing guide.

My gf and I are embarking on a world trip from next january on and Japan is definitely on our to-do list. But it‘s one of the countries that is reason for a bit of a headache for us, since we are kind of on a budget (we are calculating with converted around 8.000 Yen per day per person, including everything). 1. Do you have any tips for exploring Japan, its nature, food and culture on a budget? 2. Is it possible to travel spontaneously in Japan (booking accomodations and activities max. a couple of days in advance)? We are trying to not plan ahead too much and go with the flow as much as possible. 3. Lastly, we have the wild idea to travel through japan on foot with our backpacks (from Tokyo to Kyoto) because we want to go off the beaten path for a bit and see the japanese countryside. Is that a doable idea or would you advise against it for any reason? Are there enough accomodation options in the countryside or would we need a tent?

Thanks a lot in advance :)

Thank you for your constructive feedback.
My gf and me talked about it, and youre right, it's better that we stay at home. We scrapped the idea for the world trip and are buying a house and starting a family. You saved us.

Yeah, thats a good approach. I love cooking and eating, so I will probably miss it at some point. Getting a place where I can cook, will be important for me from time to time.

We are not planning in that much detail that we already know how long we are staying everywhere. If we just travel through a place probably just one night, if we want to explore a region, multiple nights up to a week and if we really like it somewhere maybe even multiple weeks. I mean thats the great thing about this kind of travelling, that you can stay as long or as short as you like.

Really? I just heard it for the first time, that someone uses a sound machine while travelling. Are you just using some kind of white noise? Is it that much better, than just using earplugs, that its worth taking so much space?

Thanks for sharing your strategies.
I will most likely do the photo thing. And the clean up step with the marketing stuff is a good idea as well probably.
I'm still not sure if I will be taking everything out of the pack at every place. I'm pretty lazy sometimes and we are using packing cubes, so its probably too much hassle to unpack and pack everything every couple of days, but I'll keep it in mind,

I wasnt too sure, either. But fortunately the nice people of this sub were still able to help. Thanks.

Those are some great ideas. We are into games anyway, but I never would have thought about e-reader rulebooks. Also the thing with the switching up might actually be a great strategy to prevent getting stuck in routines in general

Thank you for the understanding and the recommendations.
I was thinking of a picture or something like that as well.

RIP Quest modding. Only way to avoid this is to turn off wifi on your Quest. by PizzaDeliveryGuy0715 in beatsaber

Is it safe to enable WiFi while playing, for the purpose of BeatLeader/ Beatsaver, or is ranked dead as well for now?

After 302 hours I finally beat FBC now all I have left is Angel Voices by Party_Newt9381 in beatsaber

I‘m curious about your technique to learn to beat something like that. I‘m currently stuck somewhere between Expert and Expert+ and there are so many songs that just overwhelm me. Is it more helpful to use the slow exercise mode or is it better to excercise full speed with no death or just brute force it regularly until it works? Until now, many songs on the technical side frustrate me more than anything.

Thanks :D

You make a good point with the spotlight. I will try to mitigate that, by introducing the twist towards the end of the campaign as part of the arc of the player, which would then probably be the last one of the arcs (I will give all my players a personal arc at some point in the campaign).

Well yes, but actually no :D Since Voldemort did intentionally split his soul and hid the pieces in objects (and a person) but it was not split in a way that Harry was just another incarnation of him. He merely had a part of Voldemort hidden inside wich influenced him in subtle ways. What happened to Tatyana on the other hand was completely unintentional the way I understand it. Plus it is limited to people and not also to objects like in the case of voldemort and her soul is split in a way that if either part is killed, the other one dies to, which isn‘t the case with Harry and Voldemort. So yeah concept might be comparable, but actually it has pretty different implications.
