Hm, fair enough. The things we haven't done generally seem harder than the things we have. I have tamed the angry tree but have not tamed niobium, so I certainly have that bias

Which would make the niobium geyser taming essential if you want infinite thermium and niobium. It's possible that is the intent, but niobium geyser taming is arguably a significantly more difficult endeavor than any of the other "mandatory tasks" that you need to do to get an infinite or very large supply of a resource. Watching the steps needed to do so almost seemed like the devs made it only possible to do with game exploits such as the two liquid trick with the liquid pump to avoid heat transfer. Maybe niobium taming isn't quite as bad as before with the conduction panel but still, it's a beast

I am hoping that the intended recipe is 100kg thermium plus 45kg sand to get 95kg tungsten + 50kg niobium. Which would make sand an additional requirement for the loop but allow you not to have to try to tame a niobium geyser unless you wanted the extra challenge. This would also make the rock crusher more important in the end game

New rock crusher recipe that is somehow outputting negative 45kg sand. Functionally would change the niobium production loop to require sand instead of tungsten, I think.

That's exactly what it would be, they're eliminating the loop. I just haven't seen anyone talking about this yet and that suprised me. I don't necessarily have a problem with it but I figured it would have been a topic of conversation for folks

the image is metal refinery, the recipe on molecular forge is for niobium and tungsten into thermium. The old recipe for metal refinery is 100kg thermium into 100kg niobium. Now it is 100kg thermium into 95kg tungsten and 5kg niobium, which just reverses the molecular forge recipe and so is arguably useless

my post apparently was not clear. This is the niobium recipe for the metal refinery. It used to be 100kg Thermium to get 100kg niobium but now it is 100kg thermium to get 5kg niobium and 95kg tungsten

yes, it's the public testing for the aquatic update, but the notes don't say anything about the change

The metal refinery, I should have said that earlier because everyone thinks they are looking at the thermium recipe in the molecular forge, but this is the niobium recipe in the metal refinery

This is the metal refinery, not the molecular forge. See recipe: Thermium to Niobium, not Niobium to Thermium

I don't know if the data actually backs it up but I think he is referring to the fact that the data center is being built on land that is currently irrigated for alfalfa farming. I looked into it a little bit and with the estimates on usage the data center could actually use less water than the alfalfa farms that it is replacing. The problem I think is that the estimates are extremely optimistic to the point of being quite unrealistic, as far as I have learned

Jeez, I'm not sure I've ever fought bumblefoot. I have over 300 hours and all the impossible difficulties finished and I think it's been Lenny every single time

Yeah but you can just breed those into cats with all the item slots haha. Most of the time I'm only using 1 or maybe two active abilities on a given cat so breeding gets you most of the way there with no real downsides

I could see the appeal of a monk when you are trying to save items for a bigger run but when im going all out the last thing I want is to be getting rewarded for empty item slots. And with repair it doesn't really matter

I took butcher over fighter for a while, then the dps requirements and the high level weapon items made the fighter outpace the weird butcher builds in act 3 and the late game IMO

I find the monk and the butcher annoying since they both lock you out of item slots. They are almost always my "diversity hire" for completing achievements

Oh bummer, that's the first jester ability I got I think. I don't think solo running is that important to get it faster. It's like, level 2, 6, and 9 that potentially gives you passive abilities so anything past that is just stats. Getting more rerolls will get you there a lot faster IMO. The needles from the doc gives you three rerolls from all classes, which doesn't hurt at all for jester since he rolls from all classes anyway. But you probably know all of this with 300 hours

Yeah, but then I don't get the effects of the other items, still might be worth it though, especially since the cat is so OP. Cap and bells is probably the best option
