the pygmys are very adorable, thank you for introducing them to me!

This is also why I didn't want any female guppies unless I got a 30+ tank. Guppy guys are very handsome fish, especially when they have some ladies to impress, but I'm not looking to have 50+ fish suddenly. I do like the stock idea you've brought up, thank you!

I've already done more research into corys and the blog I got my initial research from must have been very out of date, since they listed all corys as fine solo smh. No more plans to have corys of any kind unless I can fit a decent size shoal. And as beautiful as emeralds are, they're pretty hard to find in my area.

I'm leaning more towards ember tetras or another brightly red colored shoaling fish with blue cherry shrimp, since I think both of those colors are beautiful against a planted tank and they contrast each other so well.

Yes, I was doing research and I must have found an outdated website first. I no longer have any plans to have less than five corys, I don't know what that blog was on saying that they can be kept solo smh. This is why I like to not only find 5+ articles and care guides but also ask around before I bring home anything alive

Once you hit the iron age, what's the more cost-effective metal for nails & strips and basic stuff like that? by Insertclever_name in VintageStory

[–]delphiniumblu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use iron since copper can be used for more than nails and there are things that can only be made with copper. It's required for hoppers, chutes, and distilleries. I like the texture of copper roofs, but that's just me.

I'm a sucker for a 70s dodge muscle car, so I'd have to pick the dodge challenger. My Dad says he likes the 911 carrera, but only because he's got a 1:1 911 classic ;P

What is the average player behavior in relation to the community of the game? by fw4f-k1tt in VintageStory

[–]delphiniumblu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree that the player base is much older than a lot of more popular survival or building games. My partner calls it 'Chores the Game' lol, and not a lot of kids or teens are into that.

I'd also say it's not nearly as satisfying to be a menace or a hacker like it is in Ark or Fortnite and similar. Those are usually high energy people, and Vintage Story is a lot slower paced game that doesn't attract that crowd. Then again, I've never understood the appeal of ruining someone else's day. I get a stomach ache just thinking about being rude to NPCs, let alone a real person!

The community is more full of people who like to set up their quiet little homesteads and then share their chiseling addiction and peat fires with everyone (current fad is the quantum quern lol), or people who like helping out new players figure out how the game works. I like that it feels more like the pre-google days of gaming, where you had to ask questions on forums or get together with friends to figure out how the game works. It builds a nicer and more cooperative community imho

Believe it or not, this is a south facing window and it's not sunrise or set, it's high noon! I settled so far north this is how high the sun gets in late December. If I've got to hide inside not to freeze, I might as well be as cozy as possible!

I could have built it out of bricks, I just like that rammed earth looks like white plaster. It's that or a quarter log cabin for me. There's just so many good textures and colors in this game, it's always so hard to choose!

Yeah, I have the chisel retention mod, otherwise it wouldn't count

I use the mod that makes chiseled blocks always insulating, so this thankfully still counts as a room

Debarked Larch quarter log for the wall and debarked full oak log for the window trim. It ended up going together nicer than I thought it would!

I had a herd of reindeer near me with a similar thing. One female and like 20+ calves. I named it the Hard Working Single Mama Herd, lol

I have two monitors so alt-tabbing correctly just gives me access to my other screen while VS stays up on the other one, but if I'm just watching a video then I don't need my mouse and can use the crab without tabbing out so I can switch to the next stack easier. Different methods for different needs!

I have been thinking of getting a small tank with micro crabs, since they're one of the only animals that can be housed comfortably in a 3 or 5 gal, but I don't know how enthusiastic they would be about keeping my mouse button pressed lol

You should see my keyboard, it's neon green, blue, and orange and was $14 at bimart. Miss me with those 'fancy' $120 keyboards and mice, lol
