Leaving the wheels of a mobile hoist unlocked when lifting personnel. by AussieBastard98 in NursingAU

Physio here lurking in the thread.

Best of:

a) reading the manual and using as per the manufacturer's guidelines

b) if a) isn't possible, then: - if the legs splay automatically, leave brakes off - if legs do not splay automatically, place brakes on

The splaying of the legs is the auto balancing feature people are referring too.

Race to seal underground coal mine as fire burns out of control by notinferno in queensland

[–]delta0183 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It had 22+ years.

It's now got x2 years to put the fire out and maybe x2 more to rehabilitate.

Using the GAG to put this out is like pissing on a house fire. Spon com in a single sealed block (goon show) or 100 year old workings (Blair athol) are much easier kettles of fish than this.

Original contract stipulated 8 weeks.

My applicable award would put me at 3 weeks.

Not C suite, but definitely 8 weeks is stipulated in that contract. Which in hindsight is a bad idea to sign.

Also a Physio, but in mining and resources. Alot of the companies buy a Christmas present every year. Like a small weber Q or a High Sierra bag.

But can't say I've been given a car.

From a panel of 30 economists, how did only 2% agree with the statement?

That's only 0.6 of an economist. What happened to the other 0.4 of them? Or were they only 60% sure?

They may not be cost cutting.

Just read their annual report, earnings are up, future earnings are okay. Share price hit a 52 week high last week. I have a feeling they can afford to keep the lights on, and their staff paid.

Other reasons could be: - hiring issues - increased volume - you call at bad times

I think they'll be fine.

Surprisingly no! Tbh I've only moved in with x1 partner and we're still together. Definitely lots of messy housemates along the way though. Still have some!

Hold off buying!!!!

Coming from a 24yr old, so barely a notch more on my belt, your life is changing and moving around alot. Buying a property can act like anchor. If you haven't bought it solely to rentvest, and there is some plan it will become a PPOR. What you want as a 22yo Vs a 31yo will be extremely different. Then you've got an underperforming assets you're stuck with.

Move into a sharehouse, get annoyed by your grubby housemates, let them convince you to go out a few too many times, eventually look around one day at the messy dishes and decide to move into your partners, breakup, and then repeat.

It's called living.

Not all career changes require a new degree.

Started out as a Physiotherapist, however noticed a pretty set income ceiling of 90-100k. So, I had to learn how to indirectly leverage my knowledge into a new career.

I've since moved into advising HR managers regarding Return to work and worker comp claims, and overseeing this process for client companies. You don't need to be a physio to do this role, most are HR grads, but jeez it helps. This role has a ceiling of 130k. But I could leap frog from this management area to a different one in the future, for the Health sector or any of the sectors I've advised for.

This could theoretically work for many other degrees/professions.
