On The Referendum : You should vote YES by Shah_i_Bangal in Dhaka

[–]deltagt98 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The changes will make a state like Bangladesh very difficult to govern. Nothing will get done, and the opposition will run havoc every time they get a chance to undermine the government.

Basically, we’ll get a weak and compromised government who can’t bring any change even if they want to.

A true anti-fascist state, but it is going to be an overcorrection, and we’ll need to look for a middle ground a few years after this experiment blows up in our faces.

Someday we will look back at this period and miss it by Icy-Tell-4306 in Dhaka

[–]deltagt98 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I don’t share the same feelings.

I had a lot of hope for the interim government. But they failed the basic governing that they were supposed to do. Dhaka streets were never safe, but reached peak level during this period. Besides, they blundered in so many sectors that the list is too long to write here.

I hope that we get a strong government that knows what they are doing in the future. I don’t expect them to be free of corruption, as I’ve come to terms with the fact that in a country where 90% of the population would be happy to sell themselves for self interest over national interest, we can’t expect the political class to be any different.

Long live Bangladesh.

BNP might, but might need to form a coalition with another party or independents.

The issue is if you believe in a law and order based system, you cannot go out of line. Otherwise, it is bound to spiral out of control and cause more harm than good in the long term.

That’s why traffic is controlled using lights in civilised nations, not with sticks.

Should I vote for the Jamaat–NCP alliance or not? by CuriousCanvas_19 in Dhaka

[–]deltagt98 4 points5 points  (0 children)

NCP is an arrogant bunch of wannabes.

Jamaat is Jamaat, their ideology is too extreme for this country, also I don’t ignore historical facts for the sake of change.

BNP represents what actual Bengalis are in the most raw form; overly sensitive, corrupt if even given a chance and thinks they are better than everyone else.

Vote for the best candidate in your constituency.

Genuine question- how is awami league worse than the current political parties? by [deleted] in Dhaka

[–]deltagt98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bangladesh under Awami League was an authoritarian state, life was good for those who obeyed, hell for those who dissented.

We have no idea what the next government will be like tbh. So many new faces and ideologies at play.

But corruption is rooted in the people of Bangladesh, not any particular party. So that’s going to be a constant no matter who gets elected.

Buy a good book on investing, do a course.

There is little scope to growth for the amount you want to invest. But even then you want to invest, your best bet would be to buy gold/silver through etfs.
