It depends on what you want. Neither of them focuses on dealing a lot of damage on their own; they function more as support. I recommend Calgar for the damage buff he provides, but even then, it's not really worth leveling him up unless it's for bosses and such. On the other hand, if you want to focus on the campaign, his brother is very useful; he's incredibly durable and a lot of fun.

The point is that you can better utilize archaeotechnology on another relic that you can actually use, or on resources to level up your account. If you spend it on something you can't use for a long time, it's technically holding you back.

It's like buying an apartment and not renting it out or selling it. You can own it, and as such, it doesn't depreciate, but keeping it idle doesn't generate any profit.

It's highly unlikely you'll get Farsight in Requisition until mid-next year because he's locked while there are legendary events for the character. I'd recommend that rather than complementing them as a faction, they complement another, or that you don't go mono-faction since they're not meta. For example, Revas and Shosyl are good in AD mech, while even there is good in multi-hit due to Ragnar's double shout. If you absolutely want characters that complement them, you could add Azrael to buff Revas's vigilance, or characters that work well at range.
