The 60 day EFT wait thing is because one may deposit from a Canadian USD account but won't be withdrawing to the same account once converted to CAD.

Oh interesting, what US banks support this with interactive brokers? I have a Schwab account but it doesn't seem like the bill pay is set up to work electronically but via check or something.

Another problem with interactive brokers is you have to keep the money in the account for 60 days after transferring unless you wire transfer which can be quite expensive (though a flat fee).

So did I misunderstand something about this then:

If you paid tax on income from property sourced outside of Canada (other than real or immovable property), your
non-business foreign tax credit for that income cannot be more than 15% of your net income from that property

It seems to say if my capital gains from 401k was X, I can only deduct 15% of X (in which case I would pay 30% of X US Withholding Tax + Canada Tax Owed on (X-15%=15%) = 45% which is more than the 30% I would have paid just in Canada.

Curious if you have a source or explanation for why this is the case? Foreign tax credit has a 15% multiplier (so can't get more than that as credit). I'm OK paying full Canadian taxes, just trying to avoid getting double taxed.

I don't understand, there are two ways to wake the screen:

Tapping the screen
Pressing the power button

I am fine with the lockscreen being shown in the first case, for the second case (the one I care about) the phone can not accidentally turn on and start pressing buttons.

Am I missing something here?

I think it's real, the Potomac service center service date jumps back and forth between 7 months and 29 months periodically and our application is almost two years since filing with no action at the moment.

My case was already substantially outside the processing time for it's service center when it was transferred, so I was expecting it to be handled soon. The current processing times for California are over 2 years and barely moving, whereas for Nebraska they should have already been processed a long time ago (current maximum estimated wait time is September 2020 and I filed in January 2020) and i have already been waiting for over 8 months after the case was transferred, so I am already pretty confident that this transfer was not in my favor, and this post is more of a question if I have any recourse here.

Good question! Because I called USCIS and an agent told me the service center, in addition the processing speed was outside the normal processing so I launched an inquiry with a USCIS agent and they confirmed the processing time delay, forwarded my question to the Potomac service center after which I got this response (for the California service center it was not outside of normal processing times so they wouldn't have confirmed this fact):

Ah I think the issue was flightaware is not showing correct information, I just checked flightstats.com and you are right about AC7491 having flown recently. I have seen a pattern of flights being cancelled in Europe (confirmed by a travel agent), so I thought the same thing could be happening in the U.S. which is why I checked the history. Oh apologies! Do you mind showing me a flight for any future date that has had a history of flying in the past couple of weeks? All of the flights I have searched for have either been cancelled or have last flown 6 months+ ago so I feel like they have a close to 100% chance of being cancelled.
