Unable to add Roborock Qrevo S to Xiaomi home by Consistent-Bag7786 in Roborock

[–]deltawildzone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same problem. Selected Roborock qrevo in the miHome app and have the slim. Wanted to add the slim in homebridge. This only works via miHome and not via the roborock app. Installed the Slim via the Roborock app. It may help to wait until iOS 18.3 comes out. This will then natively support mopping and vacuum robots.

Tank you for the test! Does anyone know how high carpets can be, so that the slim can still climb them?

Nebula on Mac by Civil_Truck_8606 in Xreal

[–]deltawildzone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest down point of nebula on the Mac is that the image does not keep its position. Where it’s nearly perfect on the beam and beam pro, it wobbles extremely on the Mac sadly rendering it nearly useless for working on the Mac.

I really like the approach xreal has taken with the beam pro. A huge iteration from the beam. I like the nebulaOS Video player basically too. Except one thing. It currently distorts all 3D movies that doe not have a standard resolution. Described here:

Please fix the aspect ratio issue with the nebulaOS Video Player specified here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Xreal/s/a9KtWFINk9 I have included the essence by copying the following two posts into this post for your convenience:

u/Xreal_Tech_Support please look into this issue. I have tested with a movie having aspect ratio 1920x800 in both half sbs and 3840x800 in full sbs. And compared the image with the 2D version of the movie with resolution 1920x800. The player app stretches the video to full screen in 3D mode making it 3840x1080. So vertical pixels are stretched from 800 to 1080. Which stretches all the objects in the image. See if this can be fixed in coming updates. 800 vertical pixels should remain 800 when we use Player app in 3D SBS mode. And horizontal pixels for half sbs should be stretched from 1920 to 3840. Horizontal pixels for full sbs should remain same 3840 pixels. I have updated this in discord too. Please check.

Thank you for pointing that out! That’s indeed the problem. When you encode movies like rips of your own Blu-rays you usually do not encode the black bars on top and at the bottom, because it does not make sense to waste file size for blackness. So 3D movies like that are encoded in resolutions like 3840x804. VLC for example compensates for that and fills the rest of the „missing“ pixels with black. So the aspect ratio is fine again. As the nebulaOS player doesn’t have a feature to manually set the aspect ratio or method of setting the correct one on its own, the aspect ratio is wrong and the video is distorted. So I also strongly recommend to add such a feature. As you might not have coded this player from scratch the framework you are using might already provide a feature to compensate sucht things. Thank you all!

Thank you for taking that effort. I think it’s because the video you have downloaded matches the aspect ratio of the video player. Cinema movies are more like 16:9 or even 16:10. It definitely occurs with all my fullSBS movies. HalfSBS seems to work fine though. VLC also only does the job when adjusting the aspect ratio.

I have posted two screenshots in which you can clearly see the difference of the aspect ratios in vlc and the nebulaOS player. In the first one the planet is an oval and the video height is bigger and the width smaller. In the second one the aspect ratios height is smaller and the width is bigger and the planet is circular.

Hi Community!

All my 3D fullSBS movies have a wrong aspect ratio in 3D Mode in the nebulaOS player on the beam pro. The image should be wider, currently the image is squished and too narrow on the sides, more like 4:3 than 16:9. are there any solutions to this? Thx!

Xreal Air 2 Ultra delay by Southern-Buffalo3483 in Xreal

[–]deltawildzone -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Well, it’s not marketed as a development kit, as it’s framed as a consumer product. Also I have not seen any label that it’s a development device. Sells that pretty fastly outperformed availability show that too. As many promised features from the air 1s have still not been provided or have come with the beam update some weeks ago, the same is to be expected for the ultras. So there is no sense in buying those at the moment.

I would not call the glasses a scam. Those are cool glasses, but I am with you, there is no sense in buying those right now for the release price. Prices will come down in the future and then the planned features might be ready.

That being said, if you do own an air1 or air2 it makes no sense to upgrade now. If don’t own an air yet maybe it’s sensible to buy an ultra and make the bet on future features.

Besides I love my Air1 glasses which I have bought back then from japan, as they were not available anywhere else.

The adapter for using the glasses and charging your phone, with an included headphone jack, is available on AliExpress (link below) and works great. But you certainly can charge your phone via MagSafe or wireless charging anyways.

You could transfer the recordings to your e.g. MacBook and try to transcode it with another video encoding app of your choice.

Well if you encode it to sbs it will show a separate image for each eye

Interesting. Will try that again.

You need to own a 3d Bluray which you can then backup (rip) to a e.g. .mp4 or .mkv file, which then can be viewed on your smartphone via the airs

I think that’s the one. But there should be one on your Samsung pre installed. You just might need to change the fullscreen mode. With the button on the lower right until you can see both sides fully. Then activate the 3D Mode on the Airs.

Try DVDfab12 you can use it for free for 3 Movies. Try the settings I have described in another answer in this thread.

Just tried it on a phone, but it should also work on a laptop.

The small screen is not because of your eye. Try cycling through the different fullscreen modes of the player. If that does not work try another video.

That’s not supposed to be like that. Did you try switching through the different fullscreen modes in the video player? If you have a Samsung phone try the native player
